Finasteride side effect - dry lips?

I've just finished month 3 on finasteride and so far no major side effects. The main side effect I've been experiencing is very dry and peeling lips. It started after around a month on finasteride. I thought it would eventually go away but it hasn't. Lipsole/vaseline doesn't help, even if I apply it every hour or so my lips still end up being really dry and peeling/sore. I've been putting more vaseline on my lips than what the security guard put on charles bronson in the vaseline scene haha.

I'm not 100% sure this is being caused by finasteride or external factors such as lockdown and not getting much sun but it is a big correlation it occurred after starting finasteride especially as prior to starting I never once had to use vaseline before and my lips were fine.

I haven't come across dry/peeling lips as a side effect online for finasteride. The only thing mentioned online regarding lips is a rare side effect of swollen lips which is not what I'm experiencing, mine are just dry and peeling.

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this and whether it will eventually go away or any advice on what I should do? Drinking lots of water doesn't help either.

I`ve not heard of Finasteride causing this symptom. Lack of vitamin B causes cracked lips as do certain Acne medications. You could have an underlying health condition. I would up my vitamin B intake, reduce salt in my diet and see if it improves. If no improvement you may have to visit your family doctor for a health check.

If you still read the forum, did you find a solution to this?
