The patient has updated the clinic these last days with updated images and is very happy with his result.

The transformation is very impressive and there is clear difference in hair status post surgery and even at only 6 months post op.

Forums can be incredibly valuable platforms for patients and that is from first hand experience for over 10 years before beginning to work in the industry. As with any popular platforms of "free speech", there will always be unfortunate, unhelpful and baseless comments.

Hair loss is an extremely personal journey for men, arguably even more so for young men. That was certainly my experience.
Both in my personal life and certainly in my professional life, I have known literally hundreds of patients with a seemingly good overall heads of hair but with temple recession who would appear to be more impacted with their "limited" loss than other individuals with much more extensive loss.
Regardless of the visible extent of loss, this is not a relative ratio in terms of how this may affect and negatively impact somebodies life, and on the other side of that, how such a restoration surgery can have such a positive influence on all aspects of a patients life, such as confidence, social events, career, relationships etc and so should never be underestimated based on "limited" loss.

The above statement is not in any way a reflection of or been suggested by this patient, but when a patient decides to share their case publicly, it is for the community as much as for the patient himself, and we all need to remember this at times before commenting on patients threads.

I will post a quote from the patients email that he sent just a few days ago expressing his feelings regarding his result. He has been very transparent and I have no doubt that he will be happy for me to share these words and I will ask if he would be able to share his current images when he may find the time to do so.

"Without doubt the best decision I've ever made. Really changed my life in all aspects. Can't thank you and the team enough!! Not one person has ever asked me about my hair."

Hi Tom

I think it has made a nice difference for the patient and remember it is elective surgery and what is significant for you is probably not relevant to what is significant to the patient and should be respected. He is happy and no one can say the outcome is nothing other than natural.

Some have more loss and are fine and others wish to address recession and it is what is important to the individual and in his own words he is very happy. I don't think forums and especially hair ones should not discount what others face or feel. The extreme is what I deal with on our Youtube channel is that all men who seek any hair transplants are of weak character and same for repair cases, just man up and live with it attitude and they have no compassion at all but just keyboard warriors for the most part. Hopefully this won't happen on hair forums.

For example, you are a NW2, in 40s, have limited recession and noted more so on your corners and have tried PRP..so probably have less loss than this patient but still enough for you to come onto forum/s. Made think of a poster elsewhere called Mike10 who has same age, loss and treatments used so you are not alone.
I am not quite sure why you felt the need to chim in and compare myself to some other poster. My question was simple what has changed in his life? If nothing has changed and he just feels more happy for himself, that is fine also. Nobody has judged this patient or needs to feel compassion for a NW2 at age 30.

what difference did it make? It is not like you had significant hair loss before

Some people are affected by whatever hair loss stage they’re at. The recession was clear to see and this patient decided he wanted to correct it. He is not seeking compassion, just sharing his journey which we all benefit from. There is no denying the change at 6 months is very good.

03/02/2023- 12 Month update.

Overall extremely happy with my results.

I didn’t really see much change from months - 6 -12. I think I was an early grower and peaked then.

Anyways, just posting this incase it helps someone else’s journey.

First series of photos - hair dry with nothing in.

Second series of photos - hair wet with water.

Objectively it has enhanced his appearance would you not say?! Definitely worth the surgery imo, and I'm sure his confidence has increased.

Hi sure it is a decent result. I am not here to judge somebody having surgery or not, especially somebody who just had surgery. My question was simply what has changed in the patient's life.If he just feels better for himself that is allright too. I do not think that is an offending question at all since the patient himseld indicated that it has changed his life. Since I have a similar hair loss pattern, I was genuinely interested in this information

Thanks for popping back with the update. Your hair will have improved further from 6 months but you were such an early grower that you probably did have most of your growth by then.
Your hairline looks very good. It’s natural and the rounded receding appearance going into your temple corners has gone. I really like the design and the look it has prooduced.
I did a quick comparison that shows the difference.
