Hi All
I had a transplant on Wednesday 12th of February at the Farjo Hair Institute. Really surprised and happy by the healing process and the reduction in the redness.
The first was taken about 10 minutes after completion, the second 4 days later.
The back is also healing nicely, although the sides appear to be slightly more bruised, is this normal?

Hi Pete.
Welcome to the forum.
It looks like you had a decent amount of grafts transplanted. What were the numbers?
The extraction area can remain tender and sore for over a week. All those punch holes are healing and tightening up by pulling the skin together.
everyone heals differently and everyone’s pain thresholds are different. If tender, keep up with the pain meds.
It will soon pass and get back to normal.
All the best.

Hi Bigmac,
It was just under 2000, I haven’t got exact numbers in terms of singles, doubles etc but they did say it was a good mix with plenty of singles for the hairline.
just waiting for it to heal, then carefully trim the remaining top hair.
For the swelling are antihistamines ok, or can they affect the grafts in some way?

Antihistamines are usually for irritation/allergies. I’ve not heard of anyone using them to reduce swelling.
An ice pack to the forehead is good, it helps prevent the swelling moving from your scalp to face.
If you have a lot of swelling, give the clinic a call who will then advise accordingly.
Most people who get bad swelling just wait it out.

Hi Bigmac,
Thanks for the advice, two weeks on today and all appears fine, scabs came off at day 11, no adverse affects at all... just waiting for the shedding now.

Hi Pete. Everything looks fine and right on track. It is a good feeling when all the scabs are gone and everything returning to normal again.
