I am sorry I did not respond to your PM Pivot. Been busy.
However in my opinion the larger the punch the increase in the chance of white dotting. However in all honesty I have seen white dotting even in 0.8mm on rare occasions.
I CAN say in all honesty that I have seen white dotting in every case that has used a larger than 1.0mm punch. These are cases that have come from other clinics that employ large punch extractions that came to use for more work and/or a repair. I measured the extraction spots. It was evident that something larger than 1.0mm had to have n=been used.
We employ a 0.8mm, 0.9mm, and a 1.0mm punch. Rarely the 1.0mm is used unsless the person has extreme splaying.
I do not know what other clinics use. I only know what we use. I hope this helps your question here and the PM. Have a good weekend Pivot.
