I`ve been looking at a company in the US who do this, i`ve heard very positive feedback about them.

I`ll post on here when i have a bit more info.

Could be an idea to darken the white dots if it was permanent and proven not to go a funny colour and improve how your donor looks at short lengths by taking away the lighter zones that some have from poor work.

This topic has come up before and I still am a little leary. Personally I don't believe that I would ever consider the full hairline--well infact I wouldnt. The same thing comes into play with a HT but even more so. Lets just play devils advocate and state that the work is stellar. What happens when the guy is 70 and still has a hairline like when he was 20? Won't it look weird? How about when his natural hair turns grey? Yikes!!

Also, I am under the assumption that it takes a superbly skilled individual to pull this off well. Likely there are so so few people that can do this so you had better do your homework.

I still am sort of under the idea that it might not be so bad for a donor scar. I figure that it would be like a concealer but again, when his natural hair turns grey??

It's a good idea at the moment. But down the line it will become quite evident for these gentlemen that it was a very bad idea.

Hopefully these same gentlemen will have other options when the work starts to look odd several years down the line and I have no doubt it will look odd.

It might be useful as a temporary stop gap measure for scars. But in my opinion some of those hairlines are completely insane.

I notice that everyones head is shaved. From looking at the website it looks like you have to wear your hair shaved or very short. If you have to wear your hair this short why get the tatoo. Why not just shave your head. I wonder if the color is permeant or if the color going to fade within time.

I think its a terrible idea for hairline etc but for a patient who had a previous fue where a large punch was used, poor extraction pattern/overharvesting it might be a good idea to just fill up those white dots

Looking at some of those hairlines. What would we be saying if a hair transplant clinic did similar work? In my opinion this outfit does not have these young men €™s best interest in mind and that raises a huge red flag. This is what makes even an attempt at using it for scarring questionable. Does one really want to do business with someone that would give these bizarre low hairlines to someone?

I also understand that these men are asking for this to be done, but that doesn €™t make it right. If someone asked me to give them a very low tattooed hairline on their head I would have to send them on their way. Maybe my pocket would be a bit lighter, but I would sleep well. Just my opinion.

Pretty sure these are only semi-permanant tattoo's so they wouldn't still be there when you are older.

I €™m not so sure about the semi permanent part. There is plenty of information out there that states just the opposite. I could never do what this company is doing regardless if the customer asked for it or not and regardless of the compensation. As I wrote in the previous post, some of those hairlines are completely bizarre.

Personally I have often refused to perform work or give customers what they wanted if I thought it was irresponsible and not a good idea. So I guess I have come to expect that of others, but this is not always the case as I have learned. When I do find a person or business that I feel is extremely honest, professional and have my best interests at heart, I feel the need to tell the whole world. It €™s almost becoming a rarity nowadays.

Here are a couple of comments from people who have had semi permanent tattoo work done, not necessarily on the scalp.

Yeah - I did some research into them when I was thinking about my tattoo, and by all accounts they're not that great.

They don't fade, usually, (there was one woman who'd have hers for over 10 years and it was still going strong). And if they do fade they tend to fade in patches, and not completely, and look quite shit.

Because they're not 'proper' tattoos, the restrictions and laws regarding them are not as strict. This means any old place can do them, and they're not required by law to have the same strict sterilization as regular tattoos. This can lead to you getting dodgy blood-borne nasties.

They tend to scar. All tattoos are a scar, but with a permanent one, you don't see it, because the ink hides it. If the ink fades, you can be left with a dodgy looking scar.

There are loads more reasons why you shouldn't really get one.... Google it

I got a small allegedly 'semi-permanent' tattoo and have regretted it ever since. This was 6 years ago, and since then the place has been closed down which doesn't sound promising. The tattoo was done with a needle and hurt mildly, I can't see it ever fading and I feel like crying every time I look at it. So please be 100% committed to getting one done or else you'll end up hating it...alot!

Even if they were semi permanent as long as when they fade they turn to a lighter shade not a blue or green colour..when i say semi permanent im thinking 25 plus yrs..

Their are without doubt unethical rubbish money grabbing clinics but maybe their are good ones too,if their is a good clinic that does this im sure they would be the exception not the rule.

Bigmac have you a name for the clinic in the states you were looking into?

I know this is an old post but I just thought I would let you know about my experience with this type of work.

I was a model for a girl who wanted to practice hair strokes using semi permanent pigment tattoos the same stuff as this clinic uses.

On a bad note she was pretty bad at it as Stephen and Dr Bisanga at BHR will tell you as they saw it in my consult.

BUT on a good not the pigment is a very natural hair colour and fades over about 5 years it just gets lighter rather than changes colour.

I was considering going to a professional to do a few on my face lift scars around my sideburns as I would like to keep my hair short at the sides .
