FUT numbness and damage to nerve

During my FUT procedure I felt a sharp pain. After the procedure my head was numb. Several weeks later it is still numb. The doctor said he cut the occipital artery and nerve. Did he screw up or is this to be expected? Will I get sensation back?

Permanent scalp numbness may occur when the occipital nerve is cut. You will have to wait and see how it heals. Usually the sensation does return. Cutting the nerve or blood vessel can happen. A lot of doctors will use a Haber spreader to minimise the risks.
Have you any pain associated with it?
Any chance you could post some surgery pictures, especially the donor closure?
