Gathering Research

Everyones website claims that they are the best. I live in Southern California, I'm willing to travel a bit in order to get the best doctor. Any recommendations (from experience) on where I should go? And do doctors charge for consultations?

Most doctors dont charge for consultations imo, do some research on the forums, if you have seen a docs website you like, check them out on the forums to see what patients are saying about them.

I know how you are feeling Nelson but you have come to the right place to gather information. I am also looking at having work done this year but am currently still researching the forums. Some clinics do online consultations too using Skype as far as I know.

I have a consultation coming up this week with the Modena Hair Transplant Institute in Orange County. The doctor is a Dr. Yazdan. I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes!

Hey everyone! So I went for my consultation at the Modena Center yesterday. Meeting with the doctor makes everything seem way more serious. I had a great consult though, Dr. Yazdan was really personable, I can't explain it but it felt like a right fit. He showed me the work he's done (video's and pictures) and it was all really impressive. I liked that I didn't feel rushed, my wife kept grilling him on info and he answered all her questions.

Bigmac, as you advised, I just left a message at Dr. Ziering's office and I will go there for a consult too!

I'm also thinking about checking out Dr. Rahal when he comes in April, I just envisioned having my doctor chosen prior to that date though.

Anyways, more updates to come!!! You guys are awesome!

Glad your consultation went well at the Modena Center , its good that you and also your wife are asking as many questions as possible , I know you said you seen some before and after pictures , just a suggestion try and see some patients in person if possible , this is a big step in your life buddy and its a life changing experience and you want the best , have you not had a consultation with SMG they are in the USA and they have awesome results , try not to let extra money for travel put you off , anyway all the best with your research and thanks for posting

bullitnut-I actually came down with the flu and have been really ill, but I'm getting my footing again and will be back on the consult track. Keep you posted.

Dazzster26-Do you recommend have the doc connect me with patients or PM people through forums? I feel like the latter is somewhat intimidating.

Sorry to hear about you having bad flu i hope you are feeling better now. I agree with Dazzster regarding SMG. Without running the risk of sounding too biased they are a fantastic clinic and if i was in your shoes i would also consult with them too.

If you are feeling intimidated by doctors or posters on here then please try not to be mate as they are all on here with a common purpose and that is to help....most of the posters are just friendly regular guys who would be happy to help you in your research dude.

Everyone's been really helpful so that's rocked! I haven't had a consult with SMG but I will look into that place since you guys are recommending it. I went to Dr. Williams in Orange County this week. He was good too. I'm going to go over all this info with my family and let you guys know what my final decisios on everything are. I really appreciate the help!
