Hair loss by age

Have you ever wondered about the correlation between age and hair loss?

According to a National Library of Medicine article (details below), the chance of a male suffering from hair loss by his age is as follows:

  • So you if you are younger than 35, it's more likely that you don't suffer from hair loss (though it's close).
  • If you are above 35 years of age, its more likely that you have at least some degree of hair loss.
  • Chances dramatically increase as you get older.

47.5% chance so just under 50% or 1 In every two, thats a big chance for under 35.

Agreed, unfortunately it's very common - though the level of the hair loss is important as well (not everyone within that 47,5% will suffer from the same degree of hair loss).

The stats are not surprising to me. The vast majority of men will experience hair loss, to varying degrees, during their lifetime. You can observe this just in real life.

Good point. I guess the most interesting part of this for me is the fact that every men experienced some degree of hair loss by age 50. Not only its prevalent, it's almost unavoidable as you age.
