Hair loss in shower

Hello!

Have a quick question - I understand it's normal to lose anything from 0/100 to even 150 hairs in a day, however if I lose around 50/100 whilst just washing my hair (I wash it daily as it gets very oily, even smelly, if I don't wash it daily), is that normal?

Furthermore, is it normal for the hairs to be thick long hairs, sometimes clumped together so there are 2/3 hairs? I mainly shed these long thick hairs, however there are also smaller hairs, that aren't the length of my overall hair, which are thinner.

Therefore, as i'm losing thick hairs and/or thin hairs, is that also a sign of baldness?

Thank you for reading!

Would also like to add - my hair is quite thick overall and my hairline has been the same for most of my adult life. I'm a 22 year old male.

Hello Aza,
There are different types of lost hairs each day, some hairs are lost through normal shedding while other hairs lost are through breakage.
Have you noticed more lost hairs while shampooing recently? The longer your hair the more likelihood of noticing hairs in the sink.
If you have thick overall head of hair with intact hair line, it doesn't sound like you don't need to worry about hair loss. ;)

Hi Janna.
Thank you for your detailed reply. I've counted around 70/80 hairs in the hair catcher every day for the past few days now (I wash my hair every night). I don't have a baseline to go with from before.

When I shampoo my hair and look at my hands after around 30 secs /1 minute of shampooing, I have around 10/15 hairs on each hand. Is that normal?

Lastly, is it normal to lose just 70/80 hairs in the shower though? My hair gets very oily if I don't wash it every day. Is it bad to wash it every day?

Thanks

yes....you don't need to worry about that till now....Losing up to 100 hairs a day is normal, so don't worry.. if you want more hair care you can try some home remedies also which help to make your hair more stronger and shiny & one more thing, hair transplant is permanent solution on hair loss but try this option in last.
