Dr Knudsen is in Sydney, there is Dr Woods in Oz too. Not sure how good they are but worth a look. Ask them if they have local patients you can meet.
Good luck in your research.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Only one I've heard of is Dr Woods as BM says....it seems a little strange that OZ being such a huge place we never seem to see many clinics posting anywhere online...as this is the case I agree with Bigmac that it would be beneficial to see patients in person if possible unless off course you are willing to travel.

Future,

That's a really good video documentation of Dr. Knudsen's work. It's an awesome result on the video! I haven't seen any of his results before despite knowing him and his wife for years from all the conferences and workshops. Plus, he's very good friends with Dr. Ron. Dr. K has visited our clinic couple of times as well. Him and Ann attend just about every conference and workshop around the world. Even if the conference is only for two days he'll still travel 24hrs or more to get there.

Thanks for posting the video!

No worries Janna, indeed patient got an awesome result with just 2000 grafts. Good to hear Dr K is dedicated to his craft! Would like to see more results from him because I have heard he is just about the best in Australia.

thanks futurefue for the videos. I also went to Dr. Andrew Kim of the Australian Institute of Hair REstoration. I was impressed with how he explained things also. I would like to know if anyone here has their two cents about him? I would like to get a patient's perspective.
also saw this vid on his youtube channel

Run, don't walk away from this guy. In his video he says that the procedure will leave little to no scarring. If that were the case, much less being consistently so, we would not have FUE. His video also contradicts itself (if I understood it correctly) where it says that the depth of the strip is only 1mm yet 4mm incisions need to be made in the recipient scalp. That doesn't add up.

Joe,

The initial depth of the incision with the blade for the strip is 1mm deep but the tissue spreaders (skin hooks) are used pull apart the tissue on uppper and lower part of the strip. Then the blade is used again at the bottom of the strip to excise it out. The animation isn't very refined - in real life the cutting is much more complicated than what the animation depicts but it's gives a good idea of it.

Hi Janna,

LOL! I guess I should have watched it again, which I just did. I know how its done but I didn't see it explained properly. My bad! I still stand by my recommendation however due to the first part of my objection.

Hairyscary. Did you end up going here? If not did you go elsewhere?

He is one of several doctors on my list, unfortunately there`s not much info online about Australian doctors. Only their own websites.

Hi @mane no more! Yes, I did go to him. I'm into 14 months post op and my hairline and density is looking great! I'll just mince my words otherwise some might think I'm promoting him, but I just want to share what I experienced under this particular surgeon. Overall, he was very accommodating and he explained the procedure to me thoroughly. But it is his execution and follow up that really mean a lot because it was here that I saw the improvement. With his help, since I started to panic along the 5th week mark as i started lose hair, I was able to brave through and not stress it out because he was there guiding me along. It's good that you are putting him on the list. My advice is always go for a surgeon who you feel comfortable with, but not overlooking credentials and experience of course. I hope you have a successful result!
