Hairtransplant hair behaviour

Hey all

Ive a question regarding the behaviour of transplantrd hair..my natural hair is completely straight,some of my transplanted is not,some hairs are kinked and twisted.How many of you have had this issue and did you find it completly resolved over time to 100% match native hair,i am 12months post op now.

I see this quiet a bit in photos and it is one of the least discussed issues.

In my pictures in my gallery you would see no problem because my hair is waxed and combed,i have attached a hair i pulled out with a tweezers to better describe what im referring to.

Hi Mars

Kinky hair is common post op and it can take more than a year for the hair to settle down and go through cycles. Nothing in itself to worry about you just have to let nature take its course.

Same happens with beard hair, mine also has settled down well over the years and blended in well.

What you have said is pretty much the general consensus on the issue,i have read though it can be permanent if things havent changed by the 18-24 month mark which is concerning.

Hi Mars,

Majority of the kinky hairs will settle after couple cycles of growth just as Stephen said and others you've read about. Every once in awhile, few hairs will not straighten out but most of it will. At this point, it'll be difficult to notice the few odd kinky ones that stay. For the time being, good products should help. Warm regards....

I have the odd kinky hair in my hairline, they dont bother me at all as the other hairs surround them.

No one has ever commented on them but there are only a few anyway.

A good conditioner may help to soften the hairs.

I experienced kinked hair after my transplant; it lasted for a good 15 months post op; then without realising it my hair was straight again. Approximately how many hairs are kinked? By the way the one posted does not look too bad; mine were way more frizzed.

kentor i would say maybe 25% are like the pic,i keep my hair down straight and my non transplant forelock grows completly straight but to each side of the forelock the tips of the transplanted hair tends to develope a small curl not a complete curl but enough to annoy me.
