It wasn't the lighting - he used graftcyte spray for the first 4-5 days on the recipient. It helps the redness go away faster.

If you opt for FUT ask the clinic how short you can have your hair to conceal the donor scar, then keep your hair this length all over, maybe shorter on top, once you've had your surgery people won't notice as much, if redness persists put it down to sunburn or shampoo irritation.

I've just had another HT so will let you know how long my redness lasts, not as big a surgery as you're anticipating though.
