How do you best combat itching on the surgical site?

I heard several accounts about itching on the surgical site. What do you think is the most reliable way to handle this without compromising the hair shafts.

Try Aloe Vera gel, very soothing for skin.
How many days or weeks post transplant are you?

Have you had a ht? Your head shouldn't really itch the days immediately after surgery as spraying the area to keep it moist prevents the scabs forming. Once the scabs form it can begin to itch, then Aloe is a good product to use.

I was 2 weeks along on that one. Now I am healing really well. For the sake of others who might be experiencing it, was the aloe vera gel you used all-natural (like you scraped it right out of the leaf) or is it okay to buy the ones you can get from the store?

I was 2 weeks into my recovery when I felt the itch. Thankfully I was healing along fine. I want to try aloe to promote better healing (on my donor site) since I had an FUT, and also I want to apply it on the recipient site to promote better hair growth. Would that be a safe and good idea?
