I`ve been researching hairloss for some years now.. one thing thats prevented me going ahead with surgery is the worry of more hairloss in the future. I`ve seen a number of posts where the transplanted hair has not lasted the test of time.
This has me thinking.. Is hair thats transplanted in the recipient area susceptible to DHT? My reasoning is that the recipient area will have active DHT.. does this DHT attack the new follicle and possibly over a period of time miniaturize or even destroy the follicle. I`ve also seen many guys where the apparent safe zone has shrunk to a very thin strip.. if hair from one of these guys was transplanted it will surely vanish over the length of time it would have taken if it were still in the donor region.
