I will give the answer the clinic gave me after I see some poll votes so I don’t sway the answer. Found out why my transplant didn’t turn out as expected, and heavily weighing options.

Ok, so during my consult we discussed what we thought would be needed for a proper transplant and we agreed on the 2500 to 3000 range. Up until recently, that’s what I thought I received and have been watching as my hair is starting to grow in, but it seemed like only about half at most was growing in. I met up with the doctor and found out that I only had around 1500 grafts done. I was told that there was an issue with my grafts, that they were mushy and breaking easily. I’m assuming that’s why they extended my donor area outside of the normal area, they were trying to look for a good area. I was offered a second procedure for free to try to fill in the rest. I’m extremely nervous about having the same issue, so wondering if anyone else had this issue and if they found a remedy. I tested as slightly vitamin d deficient, so I’m fixing that.

Thanks for the input on the graft amount, I was nervous that a lot more grafts were extracted than implanted, so looking for feedback on the situation.

In case you didn't notice, grafts have been taken out from the unsafe area of scalp. Those are not permanent and will shed if your hairloss progresses. This happened in the case of a famous Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag too.

Thanks for the feedback. Originally they were only planning on using it from the safe area, but I was told they had an issue with my grafts being “mushy” so they expanded out a bit.my hair loss has been extremely stable, especially in my donor area. I’m currently 38, and just using the min/fin/trin topical combo from happy head. My donor area bounced back pretty fast after the procedure, but I didn’t have the growth that I was expecting. I thought about 2500 to 3000 grafts was the gameplan, but they only did 1500 because they ran into that problem with the grafts and then an issue with popping, but that started about 6 and a half to 7 hours in, I think my blood pressure was just going up over time near the end. I was offered a second procedure free in order to reach the original graft goal and expectations.
