How to repair mis-angled hair

Hey all,

A big thankyou to all who offered advice, I`m now 3 months post operative surgery having had 200 grafts punched out and re-implanted behind the hairline. My hairline looks quite normal now. I`m planning on having another procedure in 6 months to refine and soften the hairline, I can`t wait to finally put this nightmare behind me.

A word of caution to all, research extensively, dont jump in feet first as you`ll live to regret it like myself.

I personally tried electrolysis and punch graft removal to thin out AND REMOVE several I had in the hairline made by linier punch grafts. After removing them I then did a session of dermabration to smooth out the area. IT LOOKED BETTER. However I still have many that can slightly be seen coming through as my hair thinned out a little over the over the years

The punch method of graft removal will leave another type of mark though different then the original pit.
I think this is what Cooley is working on with Acell ..........To try and regenerate the excised site to an almost natural look.....

This is the idea anyway.....I hope it works as im going to need it again soon .....Im starting electrolosis again this week by slowly picking out the larger grafts throughout my 1/3 scalp and thin them to no more then 1-2 hairs each.........it will thin out the area but at lest the blocks of hair will be not as bad....then may do punch for the extreme pits in the skin.....and lastly more grafts........This SU-KS!......

I'm 41 and been going through this since I was 27!

I can relate to your situation €¦I have also been dealing with a bad HT procedures since I was 27 (now 46), my hair still look bad. Just to let you know however, I have not only had plugs removed via FUE, but also thinned out thick hair with a laser.

It was done with a beautician €¦she pierced a tiny hole in a piece of white paper (the laser is not attracted to light colours) fed the offending hair through the hole in the paper so as not to affect the surrounding hair and zapped it. The darker the hair the better it works.

After the first treatment the hairs grew back thinner and the second, some did not grow back at all. At $50 a treatment €¦the improvement is fantastic.

As for removal of hair via FUE €¦I had skin grafts taken from behind the ears to replace the removed graft. This was also a great improvement and helped hide the pitting somewhat.

You may also want to keep an eye out for the Acell treatments several Doc's are looking into .....It may be an option for pit and old graph removal without much in the way of scarring.....It may regenerate the skin to an almost natural look....

Yes it really Su-ks having to deal with this nonsense for so many years....As we get older we come to realize what a trivial thing having hair really is...

But when your in your late teens to mid 20's and start loosing hair its like the world is coming to an end.........you and I thought we were doing the correct thing for ourselves at the time like having a mole removed or having a nose job to make us feel better.....

But transplants is not and was not the answer do to so many bullshit Dr's who don't care about peoples feelings.........Its just a business to them ...........

They should all rot in hell!

Also regardless what the younger guys think the correct age to even start thinking about a transplant is in your mid to late 40's

By this point you will know more about your overall progression and hair follicle needs and to tell you the truth by that time most wouldn't even bother to get one

Most younger guys (myself included) just don't realize that this is a life long commitment and once you start there IS NO TURNING BACK!

years will be spent worrying about loosing more hair around the older graphs regardless of the quality of work done

And at some point most will just wish they never started in the first place....At least at such a young age

So be carefull Guys!

It will depend a lot on the final hair line location.

Can you lower the hair line for 1 0r 2 cm.The practitioner has to consider the future loss .If yes ,you can graft and remove the bad ones and let it grow to see if the camouflage is perfect .Plugs are not always bad ,especially if you want fullness appearance .They can give you that effect.

If your actual hair line is low ,then there is no way to create a transtional zone ;those grafts have to be removed and you can do a regular transplant 1 0r 2 months later (time for healing process).

I do agree with Janna ,you will need around 1500 grafts .

Hi Mwamba I wish your advise how best to remove grafts at wrong angulation ? I am fond of the way you can take out and replace grafts same day with them pointing the natural way.
