How to sleep after a hair transplant?

I'm close to booking surgery and was wondering how people sleep afterwards... I don't want to dislodge any grafts. Plus, how many days until it's safe to sleep in a normal position?

After my hair transplants I slept slightly elevated, probably at 45 degree angle. I positioned the pillows to support my neck and head just below my ears. Some pillow will use the V shape pregnancy pillows or regular travel pillows.
After 4 days the grafts are secure, normal sleeping may resume. If you have strip, you may want to sleep at same angle for longer or just be careful when laying down as sometimes the pressure may give you some discomfort along the donor closure.

Thanks for that Bm... Is there a risk of the grafts sticking to the pillow?

I suppose it could happen if you move around while you sleep, however you're usually conscious of the fact that you need to be in a certain position which helps you not move. This is how I was after my HT's.

I used a blow up travel pillow after my HT. It means you don't have to worry about rolling on your side and dislodging grafts while you're asleep.

Who are you thinking of using for your HT? :)

I went overboard with the pillows, purchasing two travel pillows, a pregnancy pillow and an orthopaedic pillow... One of them will work.
I will be booking up with Dr Devroye once I finalise my time away from work.

All the best for your hair transplant. It will be great if you could document it on here.
Cheers Bm.
