HT/Finasteride: should I wait longer to get a HT?

Hi everyone,

32 yo lad here with some hair loss issues.

I started losing my hair in my mid-20s and by the time I reached my 28th birthday I looked like there wouldn't be any hope for me.

I had a consultation with a clinic based in Hungary and booked a HT with them, but a visit to a dermatologist in the UK made me reconsider things since they saw some salvageable thinning hairs, so they strongly advised me to get on Finasteride. As it turns out, that thing worked wonders on my hair and I got back much of the lost density. That was back in 2017.

Fast forward to 2020, Finasteride really halted the loss but I think I've reached a plateau 3 years down the road and I don't feel my hair recovery is making any further progress.

This is making me revisit the HT idea, but I'm unsure whether it's a good time to reconsider it or if I can expect any further progress on Finasteride if I am patient for a while longer?

I've attached some pictures of how my hair looks at the moment.

Thanks for your wise advice!

I`d say you have probably reached the limit for any more growth. After 3 years of usage, it will be maintaining your hair now. You could add Minoxidil as another option if you don't mind applying it every day. It may or may not improve your hair further.
At 29, I think all clinics will say you`re a good candidate now for a hair transplant. I would estimate you need around 2000 - 2500 grafts if you're wanting to fill in the crown and the mid section thin area.
The rest of your hair looks dense so I`d guess you have a very good donor supply. You could have FUE or FUT.

You could consider PRP as a treatment... It may help stimulate growth in the thin areas. A hair transplant now will give you what you want once it has grown out.
