Yes I'm counting the days in fact . It's in 5 months and I'm already anxious about it, but I think I can trust Dr. De Reys .

Yeah I'm worried about hair greed too. Sometimes I tell myself I would be happy if I had stayed a diffuse NW5 with a visible hairline. But I'm aware this could change after my fisrt HT .

A little update, I've contacted the BHR clinic to have an appointment with Dr. Bisanga.

As I've seen some "failed HT" topics lately, I really don't want to make a mistake.

Always good to get other peoples points of view, Fred. You are still in your early 20s and one wrong move now, could lead to many regrets in later life.
Seen some good stuff from Dr De Reys since he left Prohairclinic on many different forums and for him to work on patients in his own house, certainly shows he has a lot of confidence in his work. If he was a charlatan like some Clinics the last thing they would want to do is let their patients know where they live.
Bisangas documented work speaks for itself, and to get his input before committing to anything sounds perfectly logical to me.
Trying to convince yourself to go ahead and book your first procedure is something I'm struggling with myself. I know where I want to go, but it is not something that is really important to me, for me to go ahead and get done immediately. I was planning on having my first in a few months but now its looking like Jan 2014.

Coopman I love the point that you just made about knowing where the doctor lives. That is obviously a big positive and says so much about the integrity of the doctor. I laugh when I hear about others in this business living behind walls and worrying if someone will recognizes them in public. If you are not doing anything wrong there is no need to worry.

The consultation with Dr. Bisanga went well too.

He thinks I'm not a candidate because I'm too young and too bald. I have a density slightly below average in the donor and will probably end up NW6.

I could be happy in the short term but there is a possibility that my sides may drop eventually, someone raised that point here.

So, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'll give myself the time to think about the procedure with Dr. De Reys, as I can still cancel in August.

I also made another appointment at the prohairclinic on this monday as I've read that there was an "update" or whatever in the pigments that allowed them to perform SMP on blond men.

If it is positive that I can get a successful temporary SMP done, I'll do that and cancel De Reys.

I'm still contemplating the possibility of just, waiting, see if I can live with it. I'll keep you updated on my decisions.

It is exact same as mine. Did Bisanga told you how many grafts might be the maximum he might get?
Have you tought about mixing the results? Fue+spm...

He said it would be hard to reach 2500 grafts.

De Reys told me 4500 grafts could be extracted so I don't know. Mixing the two could be an excellent idea. But I still don't know if I can benefit from SMP right now. But I've seen "blonder" men than me get the treatment done so, I'll see on my monday appointment at the prohairclinic.

The biggest problem what you have is that your not taking Fin

It depends on Doctor how many grafts they will take. If you have a good donor safe zone and lets say bisanga takes 30%. Dr reyes might take 40% or even more.

I think it still looks good, way better than slick bald anyway.

Dr. Bisanga told me that too, the only thing that could prevent the sides from dropping is fin, but I'm gyno prone so, out of the question.

It is not sure that my sides will drop, they didn't for the other men in my family. But he said I could end up more bald (balder?) than my father or my maternal grandfather. I've never understood this. I need a genetic 101 course :/.

That ASMED patient would look good if he keep his hair shorter and use Milenas SPM for example.

Also if someone has good beard he would mix it also.

It might be that your sides do not drop. No one knows it .

I don't like the ASMED-example, his donor is over harvested and the sides/top are not connected properly.

ASMED clinic has given a good answer for that result,

"Under the tecnical point of view, this patient was not a good candidate because of his poor donor quality and the size of the hairloss area.This has been said to him since our early consultations and patients with similar characteristics are often rejected by our clinic."


Like i said, he would look bether with SMP and possibly mixed with beard hair.

I had to cancel for personal reasons, but I'm going this monday. I really hope I'll be able to get the temporary SMP.

So apparently I can definitely rule out the SMP. I'm too blonde. The only solution for me to get a frame back (once it's gone, I still have it, but it is very thin) to my face is to undergo the FUE.

Or I could stay bald for the rest of my life. I'll decide during August, I still have time to think about it.
