Implanted hair initial growth

In the 2-3 weeks after surgery, is it normal for some hairs to grow and some to not grow? I notice some of my hairs have grown to maybe 5mm or so, but others just haven't grown at all. I realise they're going to start falling out but I just wondered about that initial growing phase and whether it impacts what will happen later on.

A small number of patients experience grafts that do not shed and continue to grow after their hair transplant. It sounds as though you may be one. The other hairs and maybe these growing ones will shed in due course. It's still very early days for you and all should be fine.

Transplanted hairs usually stay the same length and then shed within several weeks.
