In need of advice (first post)

Hello
Firstly , apologies if this is in the wrong place or I €™m doing it wrong. This is my first post.
I would like to ask others for their advice regarding hair transplants.
Bit about me €¦ I €™m forty three and have being losing my hair since my early twenties. As you can probably guess at the start I was absolutely devastated. However, as the years pass by, more important things took precedence such as marriage and children. Over the past couple of years though, it has really started to bother me again. I would say I €™m probably a Norwood 4.I €™m looking for a reputable clinic in the Manchester area (if one exists) that specialises in FUE and would like to know if anyone has any experience? Right now though, I €™m unsure whether to go down this avenue for a number of reasons €¦ The first reason is €“ as daft as it may sound €“ is that I €™m not looking for a full head of hair. I have short hair and would prefer to stay that way. I €™m also slightly afraid that after twenty years of balding I may look ridiculous with too much hair. Or worse, my wife will. So, all I am looking for is slightly more coverage on my scalp. Would that be considered a normal request?
Second reason is.. I €™m hoping by going down this route I can save money. Although I am in full time employment, I am far from wealthy.
Third reason .. I work in an all-male environment, which as you can guess can be quite harsh and by going down this route, I think I can keep it subtle (with already having short hair). So can anyone recommend a clinic and do you think my request/reasoning is sound?
ThanksJohn.

Hi Purist. I had a hair transplant in DHI London but i know there is one in Manchester too. It is soon to say that i am happy with the result. I can only advise you to do a research first. Meet the doctor, see for yourself etc.
Good luck!

I would steer away from hair transplants just due to the stress it causes the body, I think thanks to technology there are much safer and less traumatic solutions.

I was considering DHI, however after a little research they appear to have some bad rep. Farjo appears good, but expensive - I guess you get what you pay for.

Dr Lorenzo at Farjo or Dr Ball at Ziering in London would be my choice for the UK going by results posted on here.

Hi Purist
I'm in the very same position as you. just started to look around.
I've had a consultation on Friday at DHI and Crown Clinic in Manchester with Dr Shahmalak (he did Callum Bests recent HT)
I think the DHI seems good, I liked the consultants approach, very professional, helpful,he also emailed me after the so I can ask further Q's etc
I'm going to see Farjo for a "quote" in the next few weeks, you should go a have a visit then you can make an informed decision, see how much they want and what can be achieved.e
Steve.

Hi

You seem to have a plan take your time your doing the right things by asking questions and going for consultations , you can do this online as well with the Clinics make sure you have good clear pictures to send to the Clinics , I know money is always a concern but the most important aspect of having a HT is the Clinic and the Doctor doing the surgery just because you pay more money at another Clinic does not mean their the best , the reputation of the Clinic and the Doctor most always be at the top of the list , you may be able to meet people who have had work done with respective Clinics , this is major step your taking and you need to get it right do not rush in do more research

I wish you all the best

Cheers

Hi Purist, i also had a hair transplant in DHI. They did a very good job. The doctor was extra caring and worked on my head for 2 days. I think it's better if you go and see some live resuts.

I would veer against transplants just due to the trauma involved in the experience and after care, but they can be very effective.

I'm a hypercondriac so I have spent sufficient time browsing negative results and side effects, which has steered me well away from transplants!

HELLO
In my opinion, i think you should go to see a doctor firstly, because there must be some reason for your hair loss. As far as i know, stress, illness and genetic problem all can lead to bald. you have to find the real reason, then you can find the way to get your hair back.

Dear,
Hair Transplant is the way through which you can find a stylist who can work with you to find a slice that honors your true beauty and also manages your hair in the best way. Now it €™s time to get rid of hair loss and give more healthy life to your hair with the help of hair restoration.

@BigMac

I went to see Farjo but they pretty much told me to continue with Propecia (approaching three months) and supplement it with Regaine. They say I'm a Norwood 5 so I'm asking myself is it even worth it and just go for a HT.

I'm going to see DHI soon.

Farjo will be trying to make sure you're not going to lose more hair, if you have a HT and then keep losing native hair you may be no better off than you are now, let us know what Dhi advise.
Good luck.
