Is there a major difference in colour between perm/non perm SMP

When browsing forums that show SMP results it seems like the temp SMP is much darker to me.

Is this just my imagination*nl.....I say this because the likes of HISHAIR etc always seem to look a lot lighter in their shade in the pictures. They all look very good but the look they achieve is always a very short shaven look and the looks achieved with the temp option seem a little longer in length and slightly darker.

Could well be me though, so thoughts would be appreciated?

My understanding is that the perm ink has black color while the temp ink has brown.

Probably perm pigments contain heavy metals, non permant like the ones we are using do not.

Also thought I read that temp ink is limited to higher layers of the skin whereas perm goes deeper.

Thanks guys....i'm not knocking either the perm or the temp method though because there have been excellent results from both methods displayed on here.

I just thought there seemed to be a visible difference in colour between the methods for the guys who use it for concealor purposes.....it could be me though as i haven't seen many in person to be honest.

Ziggs the depths could also play a part i would think too cheers.

The colour at least in the HIS permanent version is supposed to match your remaining hair as I suppose the guys doing temp SMP are trying to do .

I can only talk about my result but becouse the hair at the back/sides was so poor they decided half way through my second session to do most of the sides as well .

I dont pay to much attention to a lot of the gallery pics on HIS becouse they are taken about an hour after the session when the head is still red/sore , for a better idea watch the vids on you tube - im now 3 months after 3rd and final session and I feel so relaxed in my own skin for 1st time in 30 bald years . -I live in Stockport as the forum name sugests and am happy to meet anyone for a coffee/beer etc if you dont like the idea of arranging a consultation at a clinic (I myself was sceptical after 3 failed fue's ) , thats a lot of dashed dreams,wasted money and in my case serious depression .

The pics did not convince me but seeing some in the flesh just blew me away - if you could be happy looking as if you have a full head of shaved hair HIS is the business , if you want to look like a 1960's hippy its not !!

You seem really happy with your results now David which is awesome, i know from your previous posts on this forum before you went to HIS how you were effected by hairloss so it's great you are happy. I think it's a lovely gesture offering to meet people and i hope anyone near Stockport considering SMP takes you up on it because as with HT'S theres nothing like seeing it face to face in the flesh to make an informed decision. Be very careful. Some clinics only offer the same ink that semi permanent makeup artists use. They last about 2 years. But cost equally as much.

My first 5 session of smp where done at His Hair, it faded a little so when I got my top up done 13 months later. I choose The Vinci Hair Clinic because i meet customers who told me the pigments last longer and look darker.

I was that impressed I just got a job there.

I agree with Ken, I did a lot of research into both procedure options and various clinic, I decided that permanent msp was best and I too had it done with the Vinci hair clinic, great decision , great company and a great team they have there.

I would be interested in seeing your results too ken if you would want to share.

Dear forum readers,
The main difference is that the molecules of the temporary pigment we use have a dimension of 15 micron and can therefore be absorbed by our immune system. On the other hand, the molecules of permanent pigments are bigger and that's why they can't be absorbed.

And that's true, Janna, we use a color brown. It is a color that recreates, once injected, the ash grey color typical of keratin and therefore of a shaved hair.
