Hi guys,

35 Yr old male who is receding and have finally started emailing clinics with pictures to see what results I could expect and how many grafts that would take. I am not on any hairloss regimin atm. I tried minoxidil for a year and got decent results, but just couldn't keep up with it. And I'm not a fan of finastriside. I am from the UK, so I am open to anyone you would recommend.

I have contacted Dr Ball, Asmed, HLC Clinic, Basinga, & Dr Freitas in Spain.

Is there anyone else you would recommend? How many grafts do you think it would take? Please ig my DIY haircut

Asmed and HLC do multiple patients a day. Knowing who did what result is something you would have to look at. Recommendations will be different from everyone. Go through the results you see on here if you need to add more to your list. Your crown looks as though it is in the early thinning stage, hair loss meds could stop this. Hairline I would guess at 1000 to 1400 grafts unless you plan to lower it.

Thanks. I've been looking through the list and they all seem similar quality. I've also looked at Dr Freitas in Spain and Basinga in Belgium. Honestly, I can't tell the difference in their work. It all seems to be pretty top notch.

One question I did want to ask though, was it the difference in quality/result between FUE Automated & FUE manual. I noticed Dr Bicer charged two different prices

It seems to me that more grafts would be required.I would estimate more like in the 2500 grafts region. Doing just the corners won't be enough as you have thinninhg in the frontal third. Also you seem to have slight balding in the crown so the fact that you are not on medication may be a concern.

I do not think there is a difference between them. A clinic should have multiple equipment and use the ones that work best for individual patients. Different skin types, hair direction and depth of grafts.

Graft estimates are difficult because we don`t know what hairline design you`re going to have. Is it just frontal work?
What have the clinics advised?

Hi Bigmac,

Clinics have advised me to start Finasteride first. I'm not on any meds at the moment. Maybe I will try .5mg daily and see what happens

Dr Ball reckons I haven't shed enough to warrant a HT. Will try the meds and see what happens, I guess

5mg daily is a high dose. You only need 1mg daily.

I see the decimal point now, my mistake.
Apparently .5mg is enough to stop DHT conversion. I know you take 1mg daily. Do you experience sides? Have you ever experienced sides on Finastriside?

I've been advised to take Finasteride also . I'm late 40's now and crept back a little at the front and thinning crown . Is Finasteride a life long commitment ?
