Where do I begin...well ever since I was a kid I've always had thinner and fine hair compared to my brother and friends. Growing up I had a lot hair but started receding a little in my late teens, around 19. In my 20s and 30s it bothered me that my 2 corners were receding but not too the point that I wanted to get a hair transplant because the way I combed my hair to hid it and make it look full. My 40s cam and by then I was a class 5 from front to back hair loss. I noticed that people would take more notice to it especially as their eyes would alternate from my eyes to my head. My girlfriend at the time didn't mind that I was balding but I did but thought to myself I could continue to try to live it because I wore hats most of the time to hide it. My nephew made a comment that i looked good with my hat on. However ,deep down inside I was unhappy and lacked confidence. The last straw was when a big group of friends and I went a snowboarding trip and one guy who I did not know really took noticed and laughed and made fun of my funny hairstyle, which I thought was decent but now looking back it was not.
Finally I started looking online doing my research about hair transplants and different doctors. Some where in other other areas, state and even in other countries. Then I came across Dr. John Diep at Medical Hair Transplant & Aesthetics in Los Gatos, California. I watched his all his before and after videos on Youtube and was blown way by the results! I went in for a consultation and booked my surgery date. His office looked very nice and his staff were super helpful. On surgery day, I came in early in he morning, Dr. Diep drew my hairline and then on we went. The procedure was all day but it felt like I was in the chair for only 15 minutes because I was asleep for most of it except when I woke up for lunch. I got 5200 grafts using the FUT (strip method) because my hair loss was so advanced. I felt no pain because the Dr. gave me a couple of shots.
After the surgery, I was given a Do's and Dont's packet to follow and some pain meds to use if needed. The Dr. and his staff were there every step of the way before ad after surgery. If I had questions and concerns they always made themselves available for me. That was al 8 years ago ad my hair is still holding up strong!
I couldn't be happier with my results! I now have a full set of hair and people complement me all the time. No one that doesn't know me before ever can tell I had a hair transplant. They always compliment on how nice my hair looks, even men. I had women and men come up to me at the store or where every I may be and tell me how much they love my hair and hair style. Through the years I got better at styling y hair and found the one that fits my face structure the best.
I highly recommend Dr. Diep! Because of him I have a full set of hair and I am more confident. He is truly an artist and a master of his craft.
