No problem sl, thanks for your answer.

I am in the same situation as Jonzi, I treat some of the remaining hairs with electrolysis, but tweezing hairs, some say that the hairs then can be more resistant, while other say they eventually gets finer. What is your opinion? Perhaps it is from person to person how it becomes.

Trichotillomania which is the pulling of hair, or tweezing, or wearing the hair too tight can cause alopecia and I have seen patients who tweezer eyebrows for example and over time thin then out considerably and some then ask for surgery to the thinned areas. They didn;t get thicker eyebrows through tweezing but finer.

Interesting. My mom says she has been doing that for many, many years, but it is still the same. Well, worh a try.

Certainly Jonzi said it helped in an email to me 5 months ago said it was thinning the hair through doing this.

Verbatim below:-

"I continue to tweez them from time to
time and I do believe that has made the plugs finer and less obvious."

Hey,

Wanted to update this thread 8 years down the line. The decision to reverse was a very good one. My hairloss has continued so had I decided to continue with more hair-transplants it would have been time for another one by now.

I look very natural. The skin has healed nicely and grafts that were missed in the extraction, grew back much "thinner" making them look more natural compared to their original coarse apperance.

My hairloss will continue and at some point I might go down to Dr Bisanga for another round of extractions. There are a few big grafts hidden further up my head with some decent pitting in them. You dont notice it since I am not completely bald but when that day comes, the pitting will be more obvious. Extractions should help with that.

Overall, I very much recommend going this way of reversal.

Congratulations! I think at this point surgical extraction would be overkill. Just visit a laser hair removal specialist or try electrolysis. Even with that I'd be hesitant because at this point what hairs remain don't stand out on their own. This is a good look!

Hi in2deep, if you can send photos to me at [email protected], with approximate amount of grafts you wish to remove and I will pass to Dr.Bisanga to assess for you and get back to you.

Hey sl, please tell the Dr Bisanga I am forever grateful. My scar was pretty bad, wide but not so long. The extracted graphs were put back into the scar and I think survival was pretty much 100%. But since it was so wide there was no way it could be completely covered. Nevertheless, today, I keep my hair this short and no one ever comments on it.

Scars there, but barely visible so a non issue really and that's likely why nobody has commented. BHR hair clinic have done you well. Do many people go down this reversal route following bad work then?

Bad work continues so people also want the transplant removed, less Strip now, so less scars to place back into but we see FUE and a lot of grafts into hair lines and a rise in scalp to beard that also are not looking natural and people then want these huge numbers removed and far more than this case.

Its a shame and also they have now invested a massive part of their scalp into beards so you hope they will not suffer hair loss.

But for sure less removal and placing to scars as the trend is less strip being done and more FUE and also higher numbers.

Hey Jonzi, firstly, I would like to congratulate you for making the brave decision to have this hair transplant reversal. Not many choose this as an option and even fewer document it. I have been researching extensively on this very subject ‘hair transplant reversal” I realize this is a long shot considering your last post was September 2019, but do you have more images of the growth in your FUT scar? Possibly one showing your scar before the repair?
Thanks, Cornelius.

Here is an update of my front. My hairloss has continued and it was defintily the right choice to step back and do the reversal. The healing is fantastic, thx Dr Bisanga you really saved the game here:

Hi Jonzi.
Sorry I missed your update back in 2019.
Your scalp has healed extremely well. I can’t see any sign of the extractions.
If you had persisted in further surgery, you would probably be looking at another now unless you were on meds that were working for you.
How does your FUT scar look? Your head shape looks good, the buzz look works well.
Thanks for popping back with an update.

Would it be ok if I used your cropped out pictures from this thread to create a post about progressive hair loss?

Great reversal by Dr Bisanga which is something you rarely see done and one reason I decided to hang off surgery. Well happy for you.
