Thanks Dr Arvind.

I guess some doctors look at hair transplants as being easy to perform, hence easy money but the reality is you have to be highly skilled and a true artist to attain the results we as patient expect in this day and age.

I think a seperate repair section on here would be really useful. I am sure there would be more than enough posts to fill it and give some guidance to other guys looking for a repair solution. Would also give a good counterweight to the general HT section, if directly underneath there was a section showing what can go wrong.

I`ll have a good think about a repair section as i can see its benefits in helping other repair patients but there is a fine line with some patients as one may say its a repair while another may say its a refinement/touch up etc.

Will poor growth for whatever reasons be classed as a repair.

Then there are the unmistakeable repair cases that should be in there.

Maybe i could call the section repair and (unexpected growth or something) as some patients just don`t respond well to HT`s,this can reflect bad on a doctor for the wrong reasons.Hope you can all understand what i`m trying to say here.

Any ideas on a name for the section to make it fair to both patient and doctor.

Cheers bm.

I am in contact with countless men and women each year who €™ve been disfigured by the many unskilled and unethical €œphysicians € that still litter this field. It €™s 2010, and some of the work that I see is an absolute abomination! You guys are lucky that you found this forum...Unfortunately, many victims did their research in the back of the sports pages or by watching infomercials.

My member is cooler than NN's
Its a total minefield out there....

I had my first HT around 15 years ago... and yes... the only research I did was ring the first ad I saw in a magazine and see their rep, now I know that he was just a salesman... the advert and the sales rep both promised an answer to my balding misery... (looking back at photos I really had nothing to worry about as my hair loss was very minimal)..... but I guess at the time even this was affecting my life....

I was lucky for around the first 10 years as my existing hair hid the HT.. but soon the plugs started to show and then friends / family / strangers etc started to glance.. my life stopped... we all know what happens... so no need to bore anyone again..

You have all read similar stories time and time again... but the point of the above is this..

I found a forum that showed I could be repaired... and for those who know me know the story of my repair and two years later I am happy.... no more stares and people make eye contact not hairline contact when they talk to me...

When I had my repair I was told that I was lucky as my original HT was bad but no where near the worst Dr Feller had seen... my donor area had the "racing stripe look"... but only if I had my hair cut shorter than half and inch and my hair plugs did not stand out too much due to the fact I have very fine hair... this was down to mother nature and not the UK butcher...

The main reason for this post is to tell you guys that while I was arranging my repair, just out of interest, I called my original HT surgery (The Hair Clinic at John Bell & Croydon, London).... I was surprised they were still up and running as I had thought with the bad work they performed there was no way they could still be in business... but all those years later they were !!!! I told them that I was unhappy, their original HT had left me with a dolls head hairline....... the answer they gave was pathetic.....

They told me that I could be be back in their surgery having one of their "NEW" procedures within a week.. and I would totally natural within 6 months....

YEP... just turn up, sit down and let them cut me about.... and this was without even seeing me for a consult.... just pay the deposit by credit card there and then and my life would be sorted !!!!!

My reply to them contained several swear words and how dare they be still wrecking peoples lives.......ended up with the guy I spoke to hanging up !!!!

So years later these butchers are still destroying peoples lives...

Its sad to think that some poor sod was in their surgery chair only yesterday.... now sitting at home was a bandage around his head and thinking that his problems are all over.... yet in reality they are just beginning....

As I have said before... this forum is not only helpful its a bloody miracle... if BigM, BN, Janna, NN etc etc etc can steer just one person in the right direction and help them avoid these butchers then all their efforts are worth it.... as we know they have already steered many of us in the right direction and for that there are no words that can express the wonderful service they give......

Hats off to you all.... in more ways than one, you are literally life savers.. ¬b`

It was nice to meet this patient whose case we discussed at the start of the thread. He visited us for the 2nd stage of repair HT and is pleased with the progress of the 1st HT repair session.
For those readers, interested in reading his update, the same is available at http://www.hairlossexperiences.com/view_topic.php?id=1765&forum_id=4

I think the effect it can have and the things it prevents you from doing can for some be really hard to take. Personally i really miss going to nice restaurants and any public function there is . Simple things you take for granted before getting scarred up . When i look at pictures of how i used to look before H.T disasters i really wonder w.t.f was i thinking to go a head and fuck my appearance up in such a way that all your left with is a hat.
Sometimes it does not matter how much you think you can handle looking like that sometimes it really can get to you.

Im lucky to have a great family as without them i doubt if i could of handled it to well.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Makes me angry everyday that some doctors still perform surgeries like this one...... and for the recipient patient they go into them with the blind hope of coming home looking better....These days its much easier to research on the Net good and bad clinics.... BUT there still must be thousands of poor people who don't have the Internet or those who simply believe infomercials and hype etc.

For example if you take one bad clinic say "Norton"for example...he started out in the 90's and performed surgeries 5 or 6 days per week for around 15 years.....Now i'm no good at maths but that makes a hell of a lot of ruined lives::;mb

I know from first hand experience that every surgery performed there would have been a butchering.

How do they get away with it?

I personally went twice and kick myself everyday for going there, in the long run your HT goals end up changing completely because of scum like these and you end up praying to just look normal....let alone better than before your butchering surgeries.

I now count myself as one of the lucky ones, as thanks to SMG i look normal again and i have my life back.....I don't want to play the feel sorry for me card but unlike Zion who i respect immensely for his attitude... i personally was struggling with my butcheries and they were affecting my life and at times my health dramatically.

So it is essential people research for a LONG period of time as there are good clinics out there but i'm pretty sure the number of bad ones out numbers the good ones 1000 to1 .
