Light trauma and loss of graft , Is there a real risk?

Hello I just had 1000 gft in FUE transplant yesterday. Arrived in the taxi, a little muddy during the day, I enter in the back and shift to the left from the inside, and the top of my head has "rubbed" the roof of the taxi (a great classic when you moves in a car while measuring 1.85m). I have been operated on on long hair so do these protect the underlying grafts? During the whole trip I had a tingling sensation on the area which rubbed (superficial friction of a second). Could this fact have damaged grafts? There was no trace on the inside roof of the taxi. After the first night, the bandage came back up a little and ended up on the grafts in the right lateral area. I lowered it slowly this morning. Again I don't know there is a slightly coagulated point, these are grafts torn off or just a little runoff in connection with the hydration by sprayer which made some blood slide / coagulate? Hey Kobra don’t panic that happened to me too . I think we’re all a bit paranoid after the surgery!
I also hit my head (didn’t bleed though). The area was then very red but the grafts remained in place. You shouldn’t worry that much, it’s really not that fragile. What’s to avoid is to cut yourself or hit the corner of a table for example. That could damage the grafts.
But otherwise the main objective is to avoid an infection, which would jeopardize the success of the surgery.
But where is your bleeding coming from? Maybe ask your surgeon just to make sure?

Hi Kobra. It is a possibility you may have dislodged a graft or two. If you have, they should not have an impact on the end result. If possible, go back to the clinic to have the area checked over. Hopefully, you never lost any and it only caused bleeding. The blood makes it look worse. Keep spraying the transplanted area with your aftercare spray.
What are your post op washing instructions from the clinic?

I just did my first shampoo on D3

1) Having not been shaved on the top, is it annoying that my hair remains wet on my grafts? Will moisture suffocate the grafts and push them back? I can't dry them anymore because can only pat dry them, no towel or friction.

2) Besides, is it normal to have only 10/20 small scabs when I have had 250 grafts on the right? A graft = a crust or on the contrary the grafts are invisible and much more numerous than the crusts? Thank you for your help

Keeping your head moist with post op spray usually helps with the prevention of scabs forming. Being moist won’t affect the grafts, it does help keep the scalp clean and healthy after surgery.

Yes moisture is actually good and helps with the healing.
Regarding the number of grafts, it's hard to tell, you might have other ones under the long hair. 250 is actually very few, and the grafts seem a bit spaced.
Where did you do the surgery?

I'm very worrying, like you I count around 40 grafts on this coin on the photo, and they tell me 250.

I had a total of 900, 250 on the left (right on photo which is inversted), 350 right, and about 300 on the top (between the conserved area forward and the middle area natural yet)

So, 1 graft = 1 crust, 1 crust = 1 graft?? or it's tipycal to see less crust than the effective grafts?

As i have 40 crusts froward left I'll had 40 grafts just? so 80 hair seems very low to cover this area

PS: long hairs don't limit the growth? some hairs are blocked in a little crust :-/

If that is all the grafts on show then you did not receive 250.
Ask the clinic for your immediate post op pictures that show the placement.

1 graft = 1 punch, you can count the "red dots".

France is not that famous for hair surgery - Are you sure you got 900 "grafts" and not "hair"? Because for example there is a clinic in Paris which counts hair, and not grafts, and they almost always underestimate the necessary amount and therefore a very low coverage.

Long hair doesn't limit the growth - The crusts will fall don't worry. Hair will fall anyway before it grows back.

Whish I had a pound for everyone who has banged their head on a taxi after a HT, done it myself aswell and understand your frustration and nerves regarding damaging grafts.
