Long hair FUE

There are quite a few doctors who now offer long hair FUE as an alternative to shaving down which for someone like myself is cool because I have no intentions of disclosing to anyone that I'm having a hair transplant. Before I proceed I'd like opinions whether or not you think the result would be the same as a shaved FUE. I'm aiming for around the 800 graft mark to strengthen my temple corners which are receding slightly. Cost wise, I'm prepared to pay the extra. Result wise, this is what I need reassurance on.

Hi Fes.

Long hair FUE is very safe providing its done by a competant clinic. I had a small session done by Dr Josephitis at Shapiro Medical Group which all grew just fine with no complications. There are a few varying methods of Long hair FUE, you can conduct a search on here to find some good information on the subject.

Thanks man. I'm leaning towards the hairs being trimmed down individually or the long hair fue, I don't wish to shave a strip under the hair. So much to take on board before deciding.

Just take your time researching, don't rush into anything.
If you decide to have surgery it's a lifelong commitment, therefor it's best to get it right first time and only go ahead when you know all the facts.

The long hair FUE costs more because it takes longer to wade through all the native hairs as you individually cut the hairs to extract, however, if done correctly and carefully, there's no reason why the yield would be less than traditional FUE.
For small FUE sessions, the long hair FUE is a great option for those who can't shave their heads.

What are the maximum amount of grafts I could have in a single session without compromising the yield?

It depends on the clinic and which method they use. You're probably looking at 500 to 1500 per day. It could be a long day for the higher amount. If done correctly, I don't see why there would be any problems.
