my beef with bht (non beard) examples

Bht (non beard) is of huge interest to me because my body is like fern gully the last rain Forrest. Bht from chest,back etc has a sketchy track record. Dr.'s often post examples titled "John 3k bht". The pictures look great. Then when I read further I see 2500 scalp, 500 chest. How on earth do you know if those 500 even grew? 2500 scalp is alone enough to give good coverage to a small area.

You have a valid point there commanderfink, i don't think i have ever seen a stand alone BHT result either.

Commanderfink you probably would have to have body hair like a bear with no scalp or beard donor a position most don €™t seem to be in as they usually have some combination and with body hair being a last resort an all body hair transplant would probably not be their first choice.

If your body hair is that strong and abundant maybe you would be a good case study for the forums. Start out with a very small procedure and see how it goes.

I know I would certainly like to see it. We can all learn better from those that are actually doing it or have had it done.

I should add that I have seen some cases where huge amounts of bodyhair were used and they looked like shit in my opinion and were badly advised. The biggest problem is the transition zone of where the balding scalp meets the fringe areas. If the bodyhair is not an exact duplicate caliber of the head hair it stands out like a sore thumb and looks completely odd, much better to be bald. So unless you have a perfect match I certainly would not do all body hair.

Body hair as said is great within boundaries and topcat and I have both had some transplanted so can say from experience the benefits we have had. Some do not count beard hair strictly as body hair though, so there is some debate on that issue, but for arguments sake let's include it here.

If the patient is on a DHT blocker then body hair may be weakened and is something that the patient needs to be aware of before transplanting.

Usually body hair contains lower hair to graft groupings so many more needed than scalp hair and as said unless soft then will not be useful for natural hair lines and a give away sign no matter how skilled the surgeon is.

It can take much longer to yield as the hair is in the dorment phase a lot longer than scalp hair, so patience is needed.

There many issues and questions body hair throws up but in the right circumstances it can really be a valuable donor pool and we as a clinic are using mostly beard but also chest hair on patients where the doctor feels it is of good enough quality.

Topcat I plan on doing that. I just cant decide how. I have a bald spot on my crown that could be filled with 1k grafts but Im scared of risking shockloss because its surounded by a nice amount of hair. I always have had a very high hairline with practically no temple points. I was thinking having my chest hair used to make templ points might be better.

I have contacted dr bisagna office several times and they request photos. I've been dragging my feet because I hate hate hate photos ,especially of my bald crown.

I plan on using you advice blueberrys,almonds, eggs, bone broth soup post op.

Beard hair theres no issue. from what Ive seen it grows fine. Other parts like chest and shoulders are unproven. A lot of docs experimented with it in the early 2000s and for the most part it didnt grow. so they gavce up and said body hair (chest,shoulders) will just not grow on the scalp. This just doesnt make sense to me. I see no reason why it wouldnt grow. I dont know if its an extraction issue (damage), or blood flow or what. But it just doesnt make sense that it just doesnt grow on the head because its different hair. I read back in the 60's and 70's scalp t hair transplants often didnt grow either but that got perfected for the most part.

I also surprised no one tried body hair for eye brow transplants. Hand and arm hair seem like the perfect type. its not ot wavy . it doesnt grow too long. why waste precious scal grafts on eye brows.

Commanderfink as far as the failures I would say much of that was from the fue's not being viable as the extraction was very poor. I have seen the same with many clinics that tried to perform scalp fue and the yield was extremely low as they just did not have the skill to extract a viable hair and they are the same ones that talk about how fue results in low yield all the time. I would also add that many of those bht cases from the past were extremely large which in my opinion was very poorly advised. Really when you think about it, it makes absolutely no sense to perform a mega session bht procedure on a patient it is absolutely insane.

From your description I wouldn €™t even bother with the crown but that is just my opinion and as far as the body hair I would suggest the smallest procedure possible and judge for yourself. Always better to be safe than sorry and believe what you actually see with your own eyes on your own head.

I have read too much on food and disease. Recently Croatia recalled some milk from cows fed GMO grain as the aflatoxin levels were much too high. This is what happens when you feed an animal a diet that is not natural and is only meant to make more profit. I have read most of Doug Kaufmann €™s writing on mycotoxins and cancer and it is something that should be of concern to most if they only knew. Those weren't cheap books but well worth the read.
