My donor seems ruined

Hi friends, had a hair transplant 2500 graft fue about 5.5 weeks ago. I'm really concerned by my donor recovery. It seems the area is super thin and it was evident as soon as the bandages came off. What do you guys think? Also, do you think theres enough hair to hide the spot when its long enough? At the moment my hair is at 12mm length so idk how much longer it's supposed to be. I'm honestly hating my life right now.

At just 5.5 weeks it cannot be judged tht your donor has been over harvested....it takes time to heal....you should at least give it few months before jumping to the conclusion..
And if you can thn plz upload your pre op pics and immediate op pics so the community people can make some assessments ....

If you could add before and immediately post-op pictures to compare. The pattern of it makes me think it’s shock loss that should recover. I’d get a skin fade type hair cut to even the donor out until it recovers.

I agree with Bigmac. I've seen this countless times over the years, and seems to be an under discussed side effect of FUE surgery as it can happen even with the best clinics. I do believe there is a correlation with patterned extractions and spread out, less confined, patterns but not so much with the end result of the donor. Try to be patient, follow your doctor's post-op guidelines and keep us update.

Thank you all for your replies. You guys have helped put my mind to ease. I've been struggling to get some sleep lately. I'm planning to get a fade sometime this weekend and see how it looks. Here's two photos, one of 2 days and another 9 days post op, taken in very high definition. The first pic you can really see the gaps in my donor at the top. Also, I was under the impression shock loss doesn't happen immediately after a HT and can take a few days/weeks to develop. Is this true from your experiences? Let me know what you guys think, and thanks again!

From the photos right after surgery they did take most of them from one strip area at the back.

To be honest it could be normal shock loss with the grafts not spread out much. In a few months with some growing back and the hair a little longer like in your post op photo it shall not be noticeable anyway
