Hello all, this is diary of you like of my hair restoration journey so far and hopefully something that helps those of you that aren’t so sure about traveling abroad.
So firstly let me introduce myself, my Name is Nick, I’m from west cornwall in the U.K. I’m 38 and I’ve been loosing my hair since the age of about 22, as I have got older it’s got more acute.
My daily regimen at this point consists of
Clean biotin
Clean collagen
Multivitamins inc D
B12
Finasteride 0.5mg
Dutasteride 0.5mg
Below is a pic of my hair at age 35 as you can see I’ve lost temple coverage and there’s a lot of diffuse thinning on top.
At this point I started looking into hair transplants because it was really effecting my confidence and my state of mind. I was scared of stories about traveling abroad for procedures so I made a huge mistake by attending a U.K. clinic instead. Which resulted in this
As you can see from the 3,200grafts I was quoted it was more like 1800grafts and I was left with a gap at one side and my hairline was considerably higher one side than the other, not only that they over harvested my donor area
You can see here that the coverage was very poor.
My experience with the clinic in the U.K. was poor at best, they didn’t want to know after they had taken my money and in the end I’d had enough, I threatened legal action because I hadn’t had the grafts I’d paid for and finally I got a part refund. The damage to my donor sadly was already done.
However about 18months later I made the decision to fly out to Turkey, to see Dr Murat at Murat Makasci clinic I was blown away by how easy his staff made everything, I was picked up from the airport in a nice car, taken to the hotel where I was checked in, in seconds and met the next morning by my coordinator. On arriving at the clinic Dr Murat was immediately very welcoming, I was showed around, introduced to all the team, then had a consultation and we discussed what was possible and what my expectations were. At this point I was more than happy to pay my money.
I’ve heard alot of stories about clinics where the dr comes in and draws a line on your head then disappears never to be seen again. This was not the case with Dr Murat, he was there throughout the day, constantly checking in seeing if I’m ok, making sure everything was executed perfectly.
We managed 5,200 grafts, and my donor has grown back really well. I have had regular contact throughout the 8months since, infact most of the time it’s them chasing me to see how I’m going and if I’m happy.
This is a week after the procedure
As you can see at this point it was already healing really well. No complications at all.
I belive this was around the 4weeks mark or so
Shedding stage
Gradually thickening up
Now we skip a few months to month 5/6
So all in all, I’m hugely happy with the result I’ve had. I highly reccomend Dr Murat and his team at Murat Makasci clinic
I’m happy to answer any questions anyone has, as for pricing every case is different so it’s not really going to be accurate going off mine, as always if you contact the clinic direct you’ll get a bespoke package that suits you as I did. They are at the more affordable end of the scale though, very good value for money.
