My Hair Transplant at The Maitland Clinic

I had been contemplating having a hair transplant over a long number of years. I was totally bald on top
including the front and crown area and have had many consultations over the years with different Surgeons.
I was never convinced that it would turn out as I would have wished.
In the last twelve month`s I gave it serious thought and wanted the best hair transplant Surgeon to do this
work for me, as money would not be an issue. I then went for consultations here in Dublin, USA and the UK.
The one Doctor that appealed to me was Dr. Edward Ball from the Maitland Clinic. The work he carries out
surpassed the others, and the rates are very competitive.
After a consultation with Dr. Ball and David Anderson, Senior Patient Advisor with the Maitland Clinic
I knew I was in safe hands and set the date for 13th June 2018 and had my procedure carried out at the
Clinic in Portsmouth. I had 3,100 FUT grafts inserted and I honestly felt no discomfort whatsoever during the procedure.
Dr. Ball and his team which included Janna, the senior technician along with five other technicians
carried out a brilliant job on me and I am so happy with the results. I have added pictures prior to surgery, immediately post op and eight months post op showing the growth.
I followed all the instructions carefully. I can safely say I had no pain, very few scabs and little discomfort.
For anyone out there contemplating a hair transplant do your research and make sure
you pick the best Surgeon and Clinic like me after twenty years!

Hi SB.
Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your experience. The work looks nice and clean, plus an age appropriate hairline which is growing in nicely. 8 months is still early going but you`re looking good already.
I`ll look forward to seeing further updates.

All the best.
Bm.

How have you found the adjustment to having hair again? It must have been strange at first after being totally bald for such a long time.

Your new hair looks good on you. The Doctor has done a super job!

Seems to have made a nice difference for you and still early for the full result. I've met Janna and David and are both great people. Thanks for sharing.

His new hairline looks very well planned and is perfect imo as its both age approriate and will stand the test of time due to its design....it would be the type I would opt for if I was in your shoes Baldingman and was considering having a HT.

@SB20 Congratulations on your recent procedure. There is obviously a significant change in your appearance, you must be thrilled. At only the 8 month mark you still have further maturing to see. Im very pleased for you. Well done for making the decision.

That’s a fantastic result & you still have 8-10 months more for density and growth. Congratulations.
