hello all, long time reader and finally decided to particapiate, im basically a nw5a ,41 yrs old ,hairloss started around my early 20s ,its been a slow process ,basically i have a comb forward and use gel and concealer to try to make my hair look some what presentable, the past summer ive lost more hair and my attempt to make this illusion work isnt cutting it any more,

im goin on proscar next friday as well as rogaine foam ,i know i should be on it a long time ago but ive been in denial about losing my hair,i can relate to guys who wear hats all the time ,im one of them ,my weapon of choice is kango hats, lol, hairloss has been a difficult struggle for me,because i was born with a high forehead ,and losing hair has change how i looked big time,im a average looking guy whom i love very much, lol, but im look so different now, it saddens me ,

ive researched hair transplants for a long time and my top 3 ,are shapiromedical group, hasson and wong and dr rahal,i get made fun of, and i get stares at my head when i go hatless , and thats never cool,my goals for hairtransplantion would be to do the front have of my head .it would frame mY Face and i would wear my hair in a ceaser type style, this would hide my high forehead and it would greatly improve my self confidence and self esteem.

i have modest goals and not looking for a full head of hair, concealer is something i have no problem using as well.its just the thought of it not working that holds me back. i have alot more to say and share , thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you guys,

Hi and welcome,

Have you any pictures you can post so we can see the extent of your hairloss, have you contacted any of the clinics you mentioned, if so what did they advise.

Cheers Bm.

HELLO BIG MAC ,today is the day i decided time for sitting on the fence is over ,its time to start the process of getting a hairtransplant,i will be starting proscar and rogain foam next fri,its the earlist opening i could get at the doctors office, should of been on that stuff a looong time ago ,but better late then never,
I've been researching around 10 yrs ,reading hairloss forums ,and patient blogs, curently i dont have any pictures ,im working on that, i always surfing the web but rather a novice as far as how to work things,i havnt contact any clincs yet,
my plan is to be on proscar and rogaine foam for a year, and by the end of the yr have the surgery, this gives me time for scalp exercises, meds, and talking to the clinics i have in mind to go to.it may seem like a long time ,but you have to live with ur decisions for the rest of ur life,i love seeing the transformations of the men and women on the forums,it gives me hope,im thinking of around 3000 to 3500 grafts for the front half ,with a ceaser type style it will frame my face and help alot,im not to concerned with the crown , im open to using concelar as well, when i was losing hair ,the ceaser style seems the best style to wear your hair and it looks fuller that way and thats the style i usually wear my hair, when i had some, lol

i dont have the slightest idea how to get them on here, im always surfing the net but actually how to work things im all thumbs. im from nj, do you guys ever plan to have consulations in the ny/nj area. ive seen other clinics do this , ive asked this question on another forum and ill ask it here as well, as far as DFUs double follucilar units ,go ,ive noticed that SMG uses them . but i never read that other top clinics used them ex, Hasonasnwong or rahal,i always wondered about that.

can u shed some light on that, i think they look great, adds to the denisity,i dont have any pictures for consulation yet, just everyday pictures, would pictures from a camera phone be good enough ,because thats all i really use, if there is some kind of family function ill use a disapable camera,im not a big camera guy,lol

Bm adds pics if you mail them to him. The area of baldness you will cover will most likely need a second pass to add more density, its not often you have one only with your level of baldness.

whats up hewey. most guys with more advanced baldness will need 2 or 3 hts, NW 5and up,ive seen some level 5 guys get 1 ht, but they are in the minority,, im just want to take care of the 1st half the 1st ht, and hopefully i wouldnt need any more in the front half , and if i wanted do do the crown ,it could wait, alot of variables to consider, donar denisity, laxity, balding area, and hair type,

Nothing up my friend, only offering my advice. Even 3-3500 grafts on a bald frontal third may not provide the density levels you desire, only time will tell.

all adivice is welcome, i think it all depends on how you style your hair , HTs are a illusion to a certain extent ,you will never have a full head of hair, the layering effect has alot to do with it,i could get away with a ceaser style for a long time when my hair was falling out,and it looked decent , but if i combed it back or tried to spike it up ,it would look awful because of hairloss, but that was years ago, now im rocking a comb forward with gel and conceler, not a pretty site my hat is my best friend

ive seen alot of results from all types of hair and between 3000. to 3500 to front half gives decent coverage, if you get good growth,at times you see the larger graft cases and they blow you away with the end result, but not every 1 has the laxity or donar denisity to have this, HEWEY have you had a HT before or your researching urself.thanks for responding

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Sounds like a good plan with the Caesar style and doing just the front first to frame the face. People look so much better with just a nice hairline to frame things. I feel for you though when you said that people give you funny looks when you go hatless, thats not a good feeling dude and I remember it well.
