Nanogen fibre query.

Hey people! I have posted a few times on this site with decent helpfull replies.

With regain foam, obviously i'm going to shred. Also under harsh light you can see how thin my hair is becoming on the top of my head and it's getting pointed out more and more often! I'm going to look at getting a HT in a couple of years (being 24 yeard old is too young apparently)

Well my query is this, for the time being and with visible thinning, are nanofibres a good way to conceal this for a period of say 48 months or so along with regaine foam? If yes, a couple of questions.

How does it hold in?
Would rain or harsh wind blow it all out? (That'd be an awkward moment!)
Does it work well with a guy with medium length hair?

And

Does it fall out easy if form example I or someone were to brush thier finger or a comb through my hair?

Any responses would be helpful to me.

(Additon. I style my hair by washing every morning towel dry and messy top with hairspray)

Hi there,

All the fibre products stick to your hair and some of it on your scalp, if you run or rub your fingers through it you will get it on your hands.

You can apply a holding solution or hairspray which will keep it in place if windy or raining, however if you get soaked it will dislodge and look patchy.

Nanogen have a pencil type concealer which they say is waterproof, you can't do any harm in trying them out.

Take a look in the shop at the products.

Cheers Bm.

Great advice from BM just want to add that nanogen do a waterproof locking spray..... but if you get soaked it will still be patchy like BM says.

I've heard normal hairspray helps it stick almost as well is that true?

Also. One thing I didn't ask and I doubt the directions would tell me, would you style your hair first like you normally would then use these fibres or use the fibres when your hair is untouched and flat then style it?... Suppose it can always be trial and error.

Yes normal hairspray works well, I would style your hair first, then apply the fibres, then the hairspray or holding solution.

Tesco Firm hold hairspray 79p a can is the best product i have used as a holding spray (its non perfumed as well). I only use a small amount of Mane concealor but i have been swimming, played 90mins of football in torrential rain and in 15years i have never been rumbled.

Hi,

I've used Nanogen and other Keratin based fibres and to be honest i don't like them. Keratin from animals does not help you and to be honest knowing that an animal is killed so that i can have a full thick head of hair doesn't make me happy.

I've found another product made from Cotton, its called HairMaker and it actually works better than Nanogen. I absolutely love it. the people at HairMaker UK are really friendly and helpful. This is a sensitive issue and to know that the people on the pother end of the phone suffer from hair loss also makes me feel a bit better. Ive been suing HairMaker for 2 months and its cheaper and better than the other products out there.

If you have thin hair or patchy hair like me then you should give it a go. They will send it to you and you'll have it in 2-3 days. Check out their website and if you want to buy it go to their site

Ive given them my pictures to use and am promoting their product because it works, the staff on the other end of the phone are helpful and sensitive and its made from cotton so is an ethical product.

Ive attached my before and after picture so you can see how incredible it is.

Thats good to know because the holding solution is expensive.

Nanofibers bind electrostatically to existing hair. If the locking spray is used along with nanofibers then it improves water resistant quality. So hair can appear thicker even through wind, rain or perspiration.

Thats great to know...rain has to be the worst thing for people using concealors...i only use them now and again but wouldn't dare go out in the rain with them....might try it though now;)

Out of curiosity have you found that using the mane for 15 years has had any negative effects on your hair or scalp?
