New hair?

hi, been on 2mg Finasteride and 1.25 minoxidil for about 8 weeks… I see small hairs appearing.. are these growing because of meds, anyone know please ?

If they were not there before starting the meds, then yes, the meds are the reason they are appearing.

Keep regular pictures so you can monitor any new hairs. Once a week should be good. Fingers crossed, you are a good responder.

Thanks Bigmac, I know you have to be patient, Im 14 months in, 2 HTS about 4000 follicles. Going to have at least one more, how long do you think I have got left to have a reasonable , within reason , head of hair please?

It is a question that is difficult to answer. Everyone has different growth rates, responds different to meds, hair characteristics etc. Give the meds longer to see what improvements you have As you are only 8 weeks in.
Oral min has been producing some nice results. 2.5 is what most people take.

in you’re opinion, can hairs still grow back after so long being bald… don’t want to get my hopes up .

In you’re opinion, do you think follicles can actually grow again after so long being bald?

I have seen dormant follicles grow where there seemed to be no hair. If a follicle is dead though, it wont grow back.
