Non-Shave FUE 800-1000 grafts

Hey everyone,

I am getting an 800-1000 graft touch-up next week to pack some density behind my hairline and temples. I am going the non-shaven route for the recipient area. They will only be shaving the donor zone (I have attached a few pictures (wet and dry) so you can see the exact areas being targeted).

Has anyone had a non-shaven recipient procedure before? How much swelling can I realistically expect from just 1000 grafts? How long does a donor hair to start to look 'normal'? I'm hoping I can blend it with a fade, and my existing hair up top will cover the transplanted grafts.

I am planning on staying in the country for 5 nights after the surgery. I hope that giving it those extra days to heal will let the redness drop and the scabs settle before I fly home.

Any insight or tips would be massively appreciated.

Thanks!

People react differently to surgery. Some will have more swelling than others but generally speaking you should be ok with no visible signs by the time you return home.

Thanks Bigmac. Given you've had quite a few HTs, I was wondering if you used any products afterwards — plumping powder, hair fibres, clay etc? I'll be asking BHR on the day, but finding specific info for non-shaven/long hair transplants is harder to come by. I'm back to work on day 13 and hoping to add a little something for body by then.
