Paying for your hair transplant

Hello, I €™m Chris Robinson, a producer with BBC News. We are doing a feature later this year about young men getting into debt by getting a hair transplant. Did you take out finance that you are still paying off? Did it cost more than you thought? Did you have to take out a loan? Was it worth it or not? I think this is a really important issue that hasn €™t been discussed yet and would like to hear your experiences. Obviously I €™m aware this is also sensitive so please email me [email protected] - Thank you

I haven't heard of anyone getting into debt for this, I imagine most people save up for it.

I've heard the argument that it should be considered an investment for the future, but I think this argument is pretty weak.

Lots of people get into debt for this, I'd guess most people get a loan or something for an HT.

We at Cosmedica do not offer finance packages or work with any loan companies. As a side note, we do not take any deposits either. That way when you get to our clinic if you feel that it's not right for you on the day then there is absolutely no obligation to have surgery. We would simply charge you for the hotel and transfers (at cost)

Good subject money doesn ´t grow on a tree to suggest people just save up for it is a little naive . Travelling around the world, hotels surgery this is not cheap. Im sure people do get in debt over this , if your in the H.T business this is good money im fairly sure they dont care too much where the money comes from as long as they get paid.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
I know when I was young and had my first HT I used my redundancy money to fund it. When I realised the results werent what i wanted I ended up getting a bank loan to fund my next surgery. I was in debt for years following this and had a butchered head to show for it.
If Shapiro Medical hadn't helped me by repairing me pro bono years later I doubt I would have ever been able to fund another surgery due to my poor financial state caused by my first few HT's
