Hi,

Keep getting some persistant spots in the same place, they are v red and usually end up with a white head which pops when i wash my hair, then a day or two later they start up again also sometimes they bleed a little when they pop!

Anything good to try or do to stop them from coming back??

Hi Dazza,

You are getting some folliculitis. Apply warm compress to the affected spots 2-3 times a day if you can. Once you pop the whiteheads, apply an antibiotic ointment. It's best to get some antibiotics to help clear it up as well. Let me know if you have any problems getting a prescription.

Can you check your local pharmacy or drug store to see if they are stocked with Nizoral shampoo? Use every other day for 2 weeks. Speak to you soon.

I have also been using witch hazel to help reduce the redness in the recepient area-should I stop using the witch hazel for the moment??

That's good that you have Nizoral handy. Yes, stop using all products until the folliculitis is cleared up.

Thanks.

It should help but there are instances when another courses of antibiotics may be needed for it to fully clear up. Good luck and keep me updated.

My gp did say I may need another course if these don't fully clear it up.
