I am a female with a receding hairline on the right side. If you look at the right side of the picture, you will see two patches missing on my hairline. I also have damaged hair that turned into baby hairs that will not grow more than 1 to 1 1/2 inches. I brushed those hairs to the side since they will not hold in a ponytail, but you can see my scalp in the area where the baby hairs are. I apply something like a powdered eye shadow there, but it still looks baldy. On the side where it is baldy looking, it looks pinkish in the picture- I had a hard time taking a clear picture with this camera.

Hello mate yea the scarring is not too good,i think if i was to get anything done again it would be to conceal the scares as well as i could but still keep the hair as short as possible..

Hi Jojje.

I honestly dont think lasers work which is only my opinion but i am no expert.

When i was at SMG they let me use the laser hood for 30 minutes while i read a paper.They took a picture at my request.

SMG dont charge their patients to use this laser hood but i think no one actually uses it even though it is free.

They are both bad, jee... I would have to go with Scarred5 because it looks like he has tried and tried and tried. He has really been through it... This is very sad, we go to these doctors with trust and lives are ruined. I wonder if they get what happens to these guys when they leave the office and go live a life after this mutilation. Sick if you ask me and it's not just the money, it's the time and emotional state it puts you in. Then you must hide and that does nothing for your sense of self. Wow. It would be great if both could get a day or so.. split it with the two guys, if possible. If I had to choose it would be Scarred5.

Not all doctors are the same,some do care and want the best posible outcome for their patients.

Hopefully with the internet more people will research before pulling the trigger and going to the first doctor that offers to restore their hair.

ive spent 30-40k just on repair and i still have to wear a hat, my options on which doc and clinic i can go to is becoming even more limited, i just hope docs take the cost into consideration when working on repair patients, i know some even actually charge more for repair, i wish some other top clinics would offer to do some free or minimal charge work to help people in similar situations, kudos to bisanga and this site for this opportunity

I for one think I am very lucky to have been in a position to be able to afford a repair... for those guys who get into debt and end up with a bad result it must be terrible to know that things can be put right but just cant afford it...

I can only reiterate what Tim said, kudos to Dr B and BHR. In my eyes topcat, zion, and scarred5 all deserve a repair. Sorry about your situations, if my lotto ticket ever comes in, i'll pay for the repairs myself. It's tragic that some doctors put financial gain before patient care, I would hope that most doctors enter the profession to help improve a persons well-being, but seemingly this is not always the case. From my research into HT's, certain clinics could be placed in different leagues, some clinics are championship while others like BHR are premier league. Best of luck with the repairs.

very eloquently put and thanks for the kind sentiment, as i stipulated it would be nice to see some of the other top clinics offer a small amount of repair work to repair patients as we`ve spent alot of money not only for our initial procedures but our attempts at repair, thanks again and i wish you the best

id like to see scarred get it and like bigd mentioned i like that he would give one of the two days offered to topcat, these guys are pretty messed up and i can only imagine how difficult life is, id also like to see some other doctors ponyup some repair time for these guys, give something back for their success, generous of bisanga for sure!

I just love the fact that some clinics have been coming forward with some free procedures. It is pretty amazing what it can do for a persons life.

I don't know what criteria Bigmac will use to decide who will benefit from this pro bono offer and I feel badly for him because I am sure that it will be a very challenging decision and difficult to isolate just one candidate.

Personally, I too was a repair patient and I know exactly what it can do to a persons confidence. I was very fortunate that I was not butchered by my first procedure and the doctor did the best he could given what was available at the time. I am forever in debt to SMG for correcting my situation and restoring my life.

I would love to see all people get repair work and straightened out but unfortunately sometimes this is just not the case because their prior work is just too irrepairable. I am a little concerned that it is not fair to BHR if they are expected to attempt a repair case that might be just too challenging. I would really like to see a case that will not only alter a persons life, but also present the opportunity for BHR to showcase their talents and how they are capable to transform a situation. I don't believe that a repair case is the only way that this can be achieved.

I too want to be able to reach out to everyone that is struggling due to the incompetence and greed of some physicians. I hope that their situations can be resolved and I too will await my lottery winfall to personally help out.

Looking at the candidates its so hard to choose between them as they all deserve something. What are the donor availability situations for you guys as this will be taken into  consideration as if you are depleted then its pointless BHR Clinic trying to achieve the impossible.

Well since i have never had a HT before my donor erea is full, i have not gotn it checked out but isnt it usual to have around 10-12000 grafts in donor hair ?
So i think im around there, i had a internet check where i sent pictures.. i was told that around 3000 grafts would do to fix my hair.

it is a difficult decision, i would have to access hair from my sides nape and some beard and i would have enough for one day, i wouldnt be totally fixed but my sitution would be improved, and i would still need more work in the future mostly revision type work

I have taken some more pictures to give everyone a clearer picture of my current condition. The chances of me being 100% repairable are pretty slim. My only hope in this regard is how well body and beard hair work. I do believe I have enough scalp donor to address the frontal 1/3 of my head. I have to keep the sides very short in order to obtain some balance. So any thinning of the side area, especially near the top by way of fue would probably be a blessing. I would consider any additional hair on the top of my head an improvement.



I understand the position of any clinic. Everyone wants to get that wow result because it €™s good for business. I might not be the candidate that gets that wow result, but I think prospective patients can differentiate. Just as important as that wow result is the result of improving someone €™s life and helping your fellow man.



I have been considering trying to improve my situation for well over 10 years. I just didn €™t like what I saw as far as the HT industry goes. Some of the doctors doing repair work seemed to be in it just for the money. I talked to several unhappy patients of so-called top doctors privately and I didn €™t like what I was hearing. Even when I just consulted with these same doctors I saw so many red flags in the way that I was treated. I thought to myself, if this is the way they treat a prospective patient, how on earth are they going to treat me once I get in the chair. It was pretty scary, so I have done nothing.



I know that my only hope is somebody that is highly experienced in fue, along with being experienced in body and beard hair. I am realistic in my goals and know only so much can be achieved. I probably will always need to use a concealer.



I am still able to carry on with a somewhat normal life. I work 2 jobs one being in the restaurant business. I €™m not afraid to be in front of people and never wear a hat. I get by fairly well with just the concealer. I have been a member of a public speaking group for about 6 years. I speak mostly about health and nutrition. I do this because I like to help people. To open their eyes and help them get on the right path. If I could somehow be repaired, I would do the same for prospective hair transplant patients. I would have no problem showing my face, and telling my story. Because that is what I think is the right thing to do. Helping other €™s avoid the same mistakes and giving back. If I am given the opportunity to have this repair work done, I will be available for the clinic anytime to help others make the right decision.



For the most part I try and remain optimistic, but of course there are days when this whole thing gets me down. I ask myself why this has happened to me. Why did this first doctor, Carlos Puig do this to me. He took a naïve 23 year old with a thinning hairline and placed giant plugs in it €™s place. If I was told this, or course I would have never done it. I was taken advantage for money. I would have gladly paid that same amount and more if they would have been truthful with me and gave me the opportunity to make an informed decision. It €™s amazing how one stupid mistake can change the whole course of your life. How can there be so many people in the world that take advantage of other €™s for money. I still don €™t understand it. How many houses, boats and cars does one need



In the end people will remember you for what you did for others and not how much wealth you have accumulated. I hope I am picked, but I also know that I am not alone.

All I can say is that I am so sorry to hear about your situation... those bastards dont deserve to be walking around... even after all the accounts I have read it still sickens me to think that this is still going on even today... and that some poor guy is probably lined up to sit in a "butchers" chair tomorrow thinking that he is doing the right thing...

I too was that naive young guy... but luckily had my situation sorted out.... so I know where you are coming from...
