I think a repair is possible in the right hands. The area on top is really not that large and their is some very thick hair on the sides near the top. My family hair loss pattern shows hair very high on both the back and sides. The hair on the sides has also been pulled up from the hair lift. I have not have any work done in a very long time and I don't feel any tightness in my scalp. There may just be enough scalp hair along with body and beard hair to really make a difference. The back is very easy for me to conceal, so it's not as big a problem.

This is something that could really change my life. As I said I would be 100 %available to share my story and show my face. I would love to be able to help others make a better decision. It would fit right in with my personality. This is what I love to do.

Over the last 2 years I was able to help several people get needed dental work done for less the 10% of the cost in the USA. My wife and I have relatives in a small country in Europe where the cost is very low. One person had work done that would cost $20K here in the USA, done for about $1700. We made all the arrangements for them, from having them picked up at the airport by relatives, to having them diriven to the dentist. We made absolutely not one dollar. We did this because we honestly wanted to help them. Their happiness and gratitude was more then enough. It doesn't always have to be about money.

I relate to topcat about being a young guy and being exploited by Doctors who basically saw us coming.I was 26 when i had mine done and the whole experience was a bad one .The Dr could see i was pretty desperate and gave me very bad advise and was only after the money.
Evan during the operation itself i could actually feel the knife cutting across my forehead,i was telling him i can feel this.
The first flap did not take and was also not evan long enough to cover the forehead from one side to the other, which the Dr then gave me some bullshit answer too.
The 2nd flap which was then used to cover the first mistake also did not take.
Months of visits back to him he basically washed his hands of me,and i had lost all faith in him.
Quite a few years back i read he had caused so much damage to over patients he disappeared.
His screw ups have left me with a very disfigured look.
Anyone who has been butchered i totally relate to.
I never speak about any of this stuff with mates or evan my own parents.Just get on with life..

Hair Transplant Surgery is like any other business out there, they have different levels of expertise from the downright rubbish to mediocre to the ones who excell in their chosen field.

This is why research is important as so many of us make poor choices.Hopefully less and less patients will make our mistakes simply by reading the forums.

Take care as its a minefield out there.

Zionaxel, sorry to hear about what has happened to you. I hope we can all resolve are situations one day.

I also agree with you, the information simply was not available at that time. The internet has basically lifted the curtain on many areas. I now research anything and everything I do.

But even today people are being taken advantage of by doctors in other specialties on a daily basis, because they don't know any better. People have been conditioned to believe and trust doctors, and many are paying a hefty price.

Medicine is big business, at least here in the USA. I just read a headline the other day that 27 million people are on anti depressants. That's almost 10% of the poplutation. Just from reading the forum's I'm amazed at all the people I hear are on statins. Why is all this happening and who benefits? The majority of the people will simple not do the research, now that the information is available. Changing their beliefs about doctors and medicine is like trying to change their beliefs about religion.

Iv said this before but my mistake was buying a Mens fitness magazine and there was a article about flap and how great it was ,i was totally hooked on the idea that this was for me.I think loosing your hair in your early 20 ´s is devastating for anyone. What i really needed from the Doc was honesty but i didnt get it.
The forums are a great help to anyone thinking about getting work done, but i still feel there are vultures out there ,this is a big money business with alot of vunerable people .

Zionaxel, the same thing happened to me in regards to Bosley and Brandy. I was reading to many fitness magazines. I was too dumb to realize the relationship between the media and advertisers. This is the same reason why so many of the fourms have become so corrupted. It's hard to have a prospective patient's best interest at heart, when the revenue is generated by the sponsors.

It's very difficult to find the truth. You really have to question the source as much as the information itself.

we have to remember this is an elective surgery, the clinic is not putting a gun to our heads, sometimes we hear what we want, we have to take some responsibility, even back when i had my first surgery i got as much info as i could and went to see as many docs as i could, i didnt get the large punch grafts or scalp reduction some were recommending, this is a great opportunity for me cause i wouldnt be able to afford to go to bisanga otherwise, especially with all the money ive paid up to now, hey if i had the money i would leave this for someone who is less fortunate financially than me, something that should be considered when the decision is made,

Know what you mean ,if i had the cash i would have big hair and join a metal band.Hair restoration is an expensive option and most people with hairloss or in the need of repair work would get it done tomorrow ,but the bottom line is most cant afford it ..

I agree about the responsibility aspect. The only part of my own experience that I don't take responsibility for is my intial transplant when I was 23. I was such an easy mark like many others. The problem with some of these clinics is not so much with what they tell you, it's more about what they leave out.

I also don't take responsibility for Thoma/Elliott having the janitor place my grafts. If the local new station didn't happen to do an undercover investigation, I would have never known, and they probably would still be doing it.

Like I said I know that I am very limited in what can be acheived. From all the clinics that I have spoken to, only two gave me a feeling that I was dealing with someone that was honest, BHR and Shapiro Medical Group. I'm not looking for a miracle, just be honest with me, and let's see what can be done. Like you said it's elective surgery and there are no guarantees.

I really think whoever gets this opportunity should become a spokesman for the clinic. They should show their face and tell their story. It's probably the most important part of this whole offer.

I try to post as much as I can, not out of anger but to show others what happened to me. There are only a handful of honest clinics that are doing exceptional work. It's easy to get misled by just reading the forums.

I think in my case i just went to a bad clinic and i take no responsibility in the fact that the Doctor seemed not to know what he was doing. In hindsight you could say i should of looked into it more but i put my faith in him.I have been looking at different types of repair lately,im also not looking for a full head of hair just a result which looks more natural.
I cant beleive how many terrible results i have seen on the net,i think these cowboy Doctors are playing with peoples lives.

I too was very young with my first HT--22. I was naive and trusted the doctor. I was extremely lucky that I happened to walk into a fairly competant physicians office that likely did the best he could given the fact it was 1990.

I really feel for you guys and hope that all of you get things sorted.

I can understand the reluctance of any clinic in taking on a hard repair case. The odds are against them with very little to gain. It's easier to just take the easy cases. But it takes a special kind of clinic to take that risk on for no monetary gain.

Personally I know I'm not an easy case, but I have very low expectations and would at least like to try.

This is true Topcat.

Lots of repair cases have very limited donor left and may have tight scalps due to the poor work etc.

The docs taking on repair cases can only work with what they have and sometimes this will mean only a slight improvement but usually this improvement will result in a more natural appearance which the patient is happy with.

Topcat,

I think that is great what you did with dental work arrangements in another country. May I ask what country that is so I can forward the tip to a friend? I have a friend in need of new teeth because he ruined the enamel from a weak stomach.
