propecia to loose patent in June 2013

Propecia is due to lose patent protection in June of 2013.

This should be good news for the consumer as prices will eventually drop. Initially there will be a six month battle by the generic companies to try and win exclusive marketing rights to the product, but after around 10 to 12 months prices should drop significantly.

Unless of course one of the generic companies manages to win these rights.

It is fantastic news for everyone.

Whether the pharmacies will lower their prices is another matter unfortunately.
