Reputable clinics in the UK (south) anyone?

Hi all.
So I'm just starting out on my hair loss treatment research and this is my first post on that journey.
I'm probably a 3A on the Norwood scale, I receded quickly in my early twenties and kept a thick widow's peak hairline for years. I'm now 37, and the peak is starting to thin. Time for action!
I terms of treatment, I'm assuming this is something I will need multiple times over the years assuming my hair loss continues? I'm looking to restore a more natural hair line initially, but I appreciate my hair will need restorative action to thicken out future loss. What hair I do have (that hasn't thinned) is thick and in no shortage. If only I could keep it on my head!

I haven't decided if FUE or FUT is right for me. I'm open to both at present. Initially I am looking for a reputable clinic - ideally in SW UK but anywhere south is fine - to discuss options.
I'm looking for personal recommendations based on your own positive/negative experiences. Going on to Google and searching is not that helpful, as everyone tells you what you want to hear. First hand experiences count for so much more.
I'll share my journey on this forum from beginning to end. Many thanks in advance, and I look forward to your replies.

Hi PSB,
Welcome to the forum. Dr Edward Ball is based in the South West just outside of Portsmouth. There are many patients on this forum that would be happy to share their experiences with you. I have just left a world class clinic in Canada to be his patient advisor as I have been so impressed with his results online and first hand.
Let me know if I can help you set up a consultation [email protected]

Hi Psb, welcome to the forum. I'd estimate somewhere in the region of 1700 - 2000 grafts if you create a new hair line and strengthen the widows peak. Meds may help you keep the remaining hair but they do have risks of side effects.
Check out the patient result section as there are lots of Uk clinic patients posting about their experiences.
All the best.
Bm.

London is full of clinics, not sure what reputation most have. The only clinic South - South West that has a good reputation is the Maitland clinic I believe. There are a few unknown doctors working out of private hospitals in the SW with very little info on them, for these reasons I crossed them off. Other clinics will offer consultations virtually anywhere, although the surgery will take place at a different location.

Many thanks for the replies. There seem to be all kinds of clinics dotted around, but I question their reputability and experience. For example, there's one opposite my office, but I know it's just a serviced office complex and I can't find any info on those who are doing the work. Homework is important.

I've seen the maitland clinic come up in conversation a few times, so I'll check that out. I'll also look at the success stories.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
I want to reiterate that Dr Ball does excellent work, and Janna his business partner has years of experience and has worked with the best in the world. If you are down south then I would definitely consult with them.

I had a transplant with Mr Ball 12 months ago and would recommend him. This was when he was at his old clinic, Ziering, but I would expect his work now to be as good at least. See my thread for more info and photos.
