So am I a diffuser? Or will scalp show in bright light?

I am making myself ill by constantly taking pictures of my hair. Some people on forums have told me I am a diffuse thinner, but my doctor says I am not balding and doesn't think I need to see a dermatologist. My mum and dad also say I'm being stupid and over-reacting, but I just want to look after my hair, especially if I am losing it after all.

My dad is 68 and has a similar hair line as me and also has fine hair like me, however he has dark hair and mine is brown. My mums dad and brother went bald at a young age I think.

I'm 22 and I haven't really noticed any change to my hair. When I look at pictures of myself when I was younger it looks near enough the same. It's just recently when I stumbled across "Diffuse thinning" that I started constantly checking if my hair was thinning.

When I spike it up with wax and take a picture with flash then it looks like I'm thinning, but if my hair is dry it looks fairly normal to me. I just don't know if it's normal for me to see that much crown or if something is really going on.

Only one picture showing. Email to [email protected] and I'll add them to your post.
It only lets me add one picture to the attachment thing. If you right click the small image icons and then "open in a new tab" does it take you to an album of my hair? If not I will email them.

I'm only on my iPad right now so can't open. You can upload multiple pictures to your gallery by clicking gallery under your user name. Doesn't work with chrome though.

I see no reason for any concern the hair looks thick and healthy even under such bright light. Flash can distort reality of what your hair is like and most men will have the appearance of some scalp when the hair is spiked up and with product under a bright light. This is not how you should judge your hair like you should not judge it when it is soaking wet.

Family will most likely tell you not to worry so there are not the best people to ask in this situation but you said yourself that your hair looks near enough the same as when you were younger.

If you are really worried then take some clear photos under natural lighting either outdoors or indoors in a well lit room and I am sure members of this forum will give you their advice.

Your hair looks to be in good condition with no signs of hair loss. When you apply gel or other products the scalp will be exposed making the hair look thinner because the hairs are clumped together rather than laying in their natural direction.
Try not to worry about it.
All the best.
