Hello Everyone
A little background about me:
I'm 34 years old and I am probably a NW 2 - 2.5. I started noticing thinning in the temples in my mid 20s, and I tried 1.25 mg of Finasteride back then, after a few days the side effects were so much that I had to stop.
About 9-10 years later with no treatment, the thinning is still at the same spots (NW 2) area and I I was looking into getting a hair transplant. But from my research even with HT I would still need to be on medication since the hairs behind HR may become DHT sensitive in the future.
This is when I ran into topical Finasteride and I decided to try it. I am using the one from Hims which is 0.3% Finasteride with Minox. I have been using it for about 2 months now and I can see the thinning spot is actually growing new hairs!!'
However, even with Topical Fin I have to apply about 1 spray (Instead of max of 4 mentioned by Hims) a day anymore than that will give me side effects which makes sense after looking at some studies done due to logarithmic effect of Finasteride.
I have a question that I was hoping the community has answers to.
The new hairs that I got, are there likely to stay if I switch to topical Finasteride only?
I am planning to start making my own topical Finasteride with a lower dose and much less concentrated so I can apply it to other parts of scalp as a preventative measure.
