Telling your significant other / girlfriend about hair transplant

Hi, for those who've had a hair transplant FUT strip scar, have you told your significant other / girlfriend ?
I €™ve had a hair transplant about 10 years ago and the results were average. Not much density in transplanted area and an average strip scar.
The thing is my girlfriend stares at my hair sometimes and I think she notices that it looks a bit off but she never asks me or brings it up. I've told very few people about my ht and really don't want to tell her but should I tell her if she keeps staring ? For those who've had a hair transplant with average results, did you tell your significant other / girlfriend ?

10 years is a long time. Have you thought about getting another procedure done where they can make a better scar and beef up the hairline?

How long have you been together as if you are committed I think she will be fine if you tell her. If you're thinking of having more work done she will need to know unless you can be away from her for quite some time.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
I was reluctant to tell mine, in fact If I'm honest i lied about my first one and said my head was a mess due to a car crash...BIG MISTAKE, wheni told her the truth it nearly broke us up as she was really upset that I thought so little of her and felt I had to lie....however to her credit her initial feelings of being mad with me changed to support and she told me that my hair didn't matter and she loved me no matter what. From then On she has supported me 100% in my repair.

How I got away with the lies about me having a car crash is totally beyond me too to be honest as my hair looked very pluggy and screamed botched HT, but she believed what I said and i hated lying to her as it ate me away and was like a dirty big secret I just couldn't handle.

I would say if you have been together a considerable amount of time then tell her as she will think more of you for telling the truth.

Yes in all my long term relationships I brought it up but not with short term dating. I had to bring it up with my long term relationships as it would bother me not to let them know about this thing I was dealing with and trying to fix. It was never an issue and the fact that I presented it in a way that was not only truthful but also simply a bad decision on my part with very little information or at least not enough information. No one can fault someone for making a bad decision under those circumstances.

In my opinion what most mature women cannot stand is a man constantly fussing over something like hair. Yes look nice and decent but don €™t let it become such an obsession that you now take on the feminine characteristic of too much preening. This is exactly why cosmetic surgery for men is kind of laughed at in many ways.

As21as you already have an advantage because you have not had anything done for 10 years meaning you are not in a hurry to do anything with the current situation and that works to your favor. I would bring it up when you catch her staring. Hey I notice you staring at my hairline. I tend to get that on occasion so please let me explain. I made a decision 10 years ago with not enough information €¦ €¦.blah, blah, blah. Once you get past it you will have a weight lifted off your shoulders and not have this constant worry over the issue. Having to deal with that constant worry in not worth trying to keep it a secret.

Personally I also like to explain all the good that came out of that bad decision I made 30 years ago and all I learned along the way that helped to make me who I am today. So in many ways I'm glad it happened.

Be honest.................

As21as my wife likes my traits of self discipline along with my hard working nature. But the one trait she absolutely loves is my honesty. She knows that it is simply not in me to screw someone over and be less than honest and in turn she knows she can always personally count on me being exactly the same with her. This matters infinitely more than hair. Hair is not even on the list and it's the same for most women when it comes to hair. Life is filled with many stresses much bigger then hair.

I'm really torn about this, actually I've gone through all my dates / girlfriends since my HT by most of the time; wearing a cap to cover my hair. When I'm indoors , I would only let her see me at certain angles, so that she can never have a clear look at my troubled areas from the HT.
If that sounds exhausting.. it is. And now I'm with someone who I really like and I still haven't let her get a clear look at my hair , and I'm afraid that she won't be able to accept it..

As21 you bring up a good point..............looking for the right light and angles and it is exhausting so sometimes you just have to say screw it and if it works out fine and if it doesn €™t then maybe that is the way it is written and the way it is suppose to be.

This is often the high cost of having a hair transplant that many young guys fail to take into account because they simply do not know. Can it be fixed..........maybe..........but sometimes it simply can't because the original plan made absolutely no sense long term.

I think with HTs in the mainstream news it's easier for people to accept them. You could try mentioning Rooney or another celebrity and say how much better they look to see what she thinks.

I wouldn't be telling one nighters or casual girls. But if you're steady with a chick i say come out and say it

The women I did it too all had the reaction that they would be doing the exact same thing themselves

What did you decide to do. If you told her I hope she was understanding and supportive.
