Unshaven FUE, Dr Kouremada-Zioga and after care

Hello

I €™m new to the forum but have been lurking around in the background for a while reading up about HT, debating about whether or not to take the plunge. I €™m a Norwood 2.5 - slightly receding and am 41, living in UK.

I have a few questions around any experiences of unshaven FUE and downtime (scabs and washing) and hoped someone could give me some feedback.

I don €™t want to shave my hair as it €™s fairly long and I €™d prefer to be discrete plus I don €™t need that much doing. I have read that Dr Kouremada-Zioga at the Private Clinic does non-shaven FUE / micro FUE and am thinking of going for a consultation. She seems to have a good record with lots of articles online, youtube videos and photos online and all seems well (she has apparently having done the most FUE in Europe). Before I book a consultation, I really wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this doctor as I can €™t find any reviews from clients.

Has anyone had any experience of the Private Clinic or Dr Kouremada-Zioga? I have read a couple of short comments on here from 18 months ago, but no real feedback after the actual HT. In addition, does anyone have any other recommendations for micro-FUE either in UK or in US?

Secondly, how long will the scabs be present after HT and is there a way to minimize scabs? From reading the boards, it seems to be 5 -7 days. With unshaven, is it any quicker, or is it just that it's hidden by the unshaven hair?

Finally, why do some HT doctors say you can wash your hair gently immediately and others say no washing your hair for 4 or 5 days when they €™re all doing the same FUE procedure?

Thank you for any help or guidance.

Guessing he just means good competent FUE and not 1.5mm Turkish nightmare FUE.

I looked at Dr KZ's site. First, it looks like they do more than HT, I don't know if the doctor herself only does HT or if she performs multiple types of procedure. Always a plus when they're committed solely to HT.

Dr Raghu Reddy is listed as one of the doctors for her clinic. I thought he had his own clinic, not sure what's going on there. He has some decent results on this site. Regardless, I didnt think her before and after pictures were that impressive. Small, different angles, lighting, etc, and her work just didn't seem that good.

Not sure why Dr Reddys Restore Clinic pics are on her Private Clinic site, itd be nice to know exactly where he is performing those procedures.

And if you're in the UK, why not take the trip to Belgium. I think Feriduni is the best maybe in the world, also Mwamba is good and I believe provides the option of unshaven FUE.

The best thing you can do is scour these forums and look at every thread you can. You will come to realize patterns that separate good clinics from the bad, and the experiences of people who have gone through it is invaluable.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Restore Hair Clinics looks to be just the name of the hair transplant section of the Private Clinic. They are located in the same building with the same contact number, It states the following at the bottom of the Restore website which confirms this.

"2013 Restore Hair Clinics. All rights reserved.
Part of Cosmesis Global ltd.
In association with The Private Clinic."

Restore hair clinics apparently operate from 2 different Clinics, London and Nottingham from my research. Not sure which one Dr Reddy is based in.

In respect of non shaven FUE to the recipient area. A lot of the Clinics i have consulted with in UK/Europe were only prepared to work on a shaven recipient area. A few agreed they would meet halfway and buzz the recipient area to 0.6mm (from memory) but at extra cost. The main reason for doing so is that existing hair is an unnecessary obstacle and also creates additional time for surgery duration.

I have seen a few non shaven recipient areas from HCD Clinic Cyprus in the results section.
