Hi there! I am a 45 year-old-female that started using ketoconazole shampoo, that was prescribed to me about two months ago. About three weeks later, my hair starting to fall out more-- 3 or 4 hairs from a small section. It progressively started increasing, possibly with 20+ hairs coming out of a small section within a month's time. The doctor and dermatologist, that don't think this shampoo is the cause despite the timing. This is despite the fact that the bottle says that it can cause hair loss. I have been getting blood work, which has come back normal so far. A scalp biopsy points to the possibilty of me having androgenic alopecia and/or telogen effluvium. Has anyone else had the same type of experience with ketoconazole?
Note: *Picture has knots I removed today from hair tangling. My hair is a little past the shoulders. *(Some of the hair probably fell out before today.
