What is the difference between DHI and FUE ?

I am not quite sure why you would have a title stating about the difference between FUE and DHI.
FUE is the extraction process whereas DHI is the implantation process.

It would be better to compare DHI to other implantation techniques.

In our clinic we tend to use forcep implantation and KEEP implantation. We also perform DHI, but mainly to go in between longer hair.
I am not saying one technique is better then the other, in the end it comes down to final results and experience team members.

Both of them are used for hair transplants. The difference is in the process and the result. With FUE the surgeon has to create channels for implantation with a sapphire blade for example. Meanwhile, with DHI the grafts are being implanted directly by Choi pen. Looking at the result for each one, DHI gives a more natural look cause the surgeon has the ability to control the direction of the implant and maintain the hair flow. Or with FUE, the surgeon has no control of the grafts, specially when it comes to frontline it will not give best results
And as you said, it's all related to who is doing the surgery and how experienced he is to give the best results

I tend to partially disagree.

DHI technique does not allow for a whole view the entire field of implantation. This means that the surgeon is restricted because the graft is placed as soon as he uses DHI.

This is why the golden standard at most top institutes is still the lateral slit technique. It gives the surgeon the ability to step back and have a total overview of the plane of slits and make corrections BEFORE the implanters start.

So, while I agree that DHI is a nice technique, it has nothing superior in terms of control of direction and hair flow.

We use both techniques, and our surgeons all prefer to have more control during the site creation and therefore use the slit technique.

Again FUE is an extraction technique, it has nothing to do with the site creation.

Whatever technique is used, the best results can ONLY be achieved by a team of experts. There can not be any weak link. Every technician or dr. must be a professional or it might bring down the entire result.
