When a patient disappears

I agree re the billboard , especially if its ` vague ` as to how it got there

My point is the patient does not have to dissapear , whatever `arrangement` is made between patient and Dr , the patient can refer to that experience with `no comment ` or ` use the search function `or not refer to any prior experience at all this in itself would serve as a huge red flag and is helpful to others without incuring the legal wrath of any particular Drs ,

how many scar revisions which are obviously ` free ` dissapear`.. however pictures of post repair, with a different Dr sum up how the free revision went , vague but helpful

I don't think it's too crazy if a guy falls off the radar. Often, guys are depressed about their hair. Then they have surgery and are really happy that they took action. But by the time the hair finally grows and they have a good result, they just forgot that the problem existed and are not motivated to post.

That one possible reason, anyway.

For those of you who do not understand this posting let me try to explain with just one example of too many I have seen over the years. These were recent postings I have read.

One patient had FUE in 2004 with a 1mm punch he now has extensive white dotting. He then went to another clinic where they used a power device and the yield was low. He now has a head of very thin hair including the donor. He can €™t shave it because of all the white dotting and might have to consider strip to improve his situation. The point is where has he been all this time and why didn €™t he post this information earlier so that others could benefit, this is what I don €™t get. Using large punches and power devices although quicker and more profitable are probably not a good idea for the patient.

Sorry to say this but what I see is too many desperate balding guys of which many are very selfish worrying only of themselves. They can come to the forums looking for help but seldom stay around long enough to help others. It €™s like running out of burning building without warning others, sorry not really a man in my eyes. Maybe I €™m too extreme to the opposite end as I tend to react but I can live with myself.

Just read another posting where a patient asked about a topical he could use for his fue donor area as he does not want to have hypopigmentation. The punches used were as large as 1.25 that is 3 times the surface area of a .75

Could the previous patient have helped this 2nd patient, yes but not when they disappear.

Hewey I couldn €™t tell you as I don €™t know. I can €™t speak for scarred but what I can tell you is that this industry has completely destroyed many people. When I say many the number is huge. Judging by those that I have spoken to over the years most have just given up.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
A few will join these types of websites after seeing there is hope to their situation. Then after months/years of posting realise they simply cannot afford any of the treatments so they just give up.

Well I was finally Banned from the other site. I asked why some photos of a few patients disappeared and wanted to know why certain Posts were always deleted. I respect this site so much more. Those guys are just out to protect the sponsors. Life will go on. lol..

No need to feel bad Diamond and I was also banned from that same forum but this is just the way it works. I really think many of those that work in this industry still don €™t get it. No one has an axe to grind, patients are looking for honest information both positive and negative and eventually that need will be met as it is a better business model. I guess many feel that what they do is okay yet if someone in their own family required medical information they would expect to be given all the information both positive and negative so they could make a informed choice and not only the information that was beneficial to the person offering the advice.

Eventually a user €™s manual on how to research this industry will be written and the market will welcome it as most seem very confused by what they see going on. So much could be covered on just the subject of using forums. What is a shill for instance? It €™s interesting to watch how differently many of the forums operate their business. Some hire several moderators that steer the conversation in a certain direction and while being known to the community those new to the forums are still unaware how the information is subtly being manipulated. Other forums have very few moderators and have what can only be described as ghost posters. They don €™t seem to be patients or prospective patients yet if one were to view the history of their postings they too seem to steer the conversation towards a certain direction and sometimes seem to be the same person posting under different names. Sometimes they are used to create tension in order to ban those with a message which is not conducive to their particular business model. Some forums simply delete at will and when backed into a corner the convenient due to technical difficulties some posting were lost message suddenly appears, it €™s laughable.

Wow is this all bizarre or what and were only scratching the surface and this is in fact why a user €™s manual on how to research this industry is so desperately needed as the majority of young guys are completely unaware of this side of the industry.

Pointing out that a patient that went to a Canadian clinic and had what I would describe as a mega session which did not go as planned is information everyone should have as it is important. Necrosis of the scalp is very rare but why hide it that is the real crime. But instead the original thread to the patient €™s case was locked as many started asking questions and then just seemed to disappear. If you are new to researching you would never know about it.

I remember asking one rep that published information for the patient through a CD/Book collection if he was going to include what goes on in the forums. It was long ago and a very innocent and sincere question. He never answered and I could never understand why as it would seem to be important. I now realize those that present themselves as part of the solution are actually part of the problem.

Yes I listen to some of those that work in the industry and constantly repeat how they get it. But unfortunately the money has gone to their head and they don €™t get it.

hello all ,intresting thread, topcat, do you know if that guy is getting repaired , or getting any help at all ,my heart broke when i saw those pics, there has to be something that can be done to help him get his situation improved. i feel for all repair patients, you go for a procedure to improve yourself, confidence, self esteem, for most guys its not about being vain at all.and then to wind up worse then when you started , is a real kick in the privates, guys like topcat , bullitnut are gems in the forums, and i thank them for posting their stories.

Sadbuttrue I don €™t know but what I do know it that this thread right here was created back in August of 2012 well before this patient €™s procedure from what I remember and it was directed towards all the patients that just suddenly disappeared after being avid posters and diligent in keeping others updated. If they completed their journey and moved on that would be one thing but just suddenly falling off the map in the middle of your trip, it €™s telling you something and that was my point all along. When one is researching one needs to spend enough time to become aware of these subtle patterns and if they are associated with any one particular clinic.

Another good example would be the clinic they sued many of the forums along with their patients over the years. Look at where he is at now, why should that be a surprise to most. The clues were always there but desperation blinded most and his chair was always full.

Well I have spoken to dozens and dozens of patients over the years many of them repair patients. I have spoken to Diamond over the years and anyone who has actually spoken to him or met him and seen what he has been through along with what it has cost him in both actual expense and emotional expense would know that he does not work in this industry and does it of his own free will because he can €™t stand how many in this industry operate. Is he excited about a clinic that has helped him achieve some normalcy in life, yes. Is it normal to want to tell others yes. Be happy that guys like him and others are around otherwise you will be stuck with just those that work in the industry and no nothings with not much to say.

ive been researching for many years, and recently started to post, and ive seen guys post regularly then once 6 moinths pass they stop for whatever reason, you love seeing the transformations, but its the ones that drop off the grid with no reason that keeps you guessing.ive also seen clinics be considered the top in years past and now arent even mentioned , its all about the clinics putting out quality results time and time again, because the odds are better for you to have a good result by picking one of these clinics.

SadbutTrue the odds of you having a good result are actually better by picking up the phone and speaking with people or meeting them in person there is nothing else that compares not even all the nice pictures. Most forums have a PM function you can use to contact others. I don €™t think it is any coincidence that the forum with the recent bannings does not have a PM function as they don €™t seem to want anyone discussing the industry outside of their watchful eye.

When I actually speak to others that is when I learn as we all talk about how this industry operates and who does what and why. Give it a try.

If your pm function does not work on here, contact myself and i will enable it. New members dont have the feature straight away as lots of spam is sent via pm so the members on here are vetted to the best of my ability to try and cut it out.

You can always make first contact via pm, then email or telephone.

I am Actually happy Topcat and thanks for the support. That site was doing their best to hide lawsuits and poor results from some of their sponsors. I Feel that like you I try to educate as many prospective patients as I can. However so many insults and arguments that had no ground or basis for such misinformation has truly made happy I am no longer a part of it. I can only hope their are more people like you & I who are not sales reps that can give a True Experience of the industry. I am also grateful that we have been able to be improved to make life a bit less stressful in our everyday dealings with the world. I am certain that the majority of people out there do not know what can happen to ones life when you are disfigured. I am grateful to sites like this one which seems to be more educational and less pro sponsorship.

On the subject of being banned, for some strange reason that I am not aware of, I have been banned from hairloss talk. I have made over 1,500 posts since 2007 and all of a sudden they change their rules to say 'Can no longer mention HT doctors by name' and there goes my account!
