When a patient disappears

Hi Sadbuttrue. I am actually doing very well all things considered. I will update my Photos soon. After several corrective surgeries with Dr. Woods over 6500 Grafts. Mostly beard hair, some body hair and about 750 scalp hairs. I do a lot of my own personal therapy. I use some things that are laughed at but I feel that they do make my hair feel fuller. I use the Electric current, Laser comb, take Avodart both orally & Topically. ( I have to go to Canada for the topical formula) I have also had 3 prp treatments. I take Nettle root & also purchased two products one called Apple poly & the other zx42 which is a topical with many natural things in it including Saw Palmetto & ginger. The main ingredient is Minoxidil. All of these things have some benefit as I am really much happier than I have ever been with my results. I think that you must experiment with things to see if they are beneficial. I am interested in these pgd2 blockers but am not sure how they work or where to buy them. I do not have a full thick head of hair but I do have very good coverage. All of the things above help with fullness and styling but I do not find them efficient for growth. Maintaining and keeping all of what I put into my hair is worth it for me. I like topcat was very botched in the 1980s from 5 surgeons. I have had over 30 procedures since 1986 including scalp tattooing which later turned blue & was removed. I was forced to wear wigs for 14 years before I went to Dr. Woods. He did help me very much but it took multiple surgeries and over 3 and a half years to complete everything. I agree with topcat that small sessions are the way to go. I still do have scarring which of course never goes away but the Prp seems to have minimized this to some degree. I went to Dr. Choi in North Vancouver and see him one time per year for the treatment. It costs about $700.00 and he tells me it is NOT a miracle but used in conjunction with the other meds it helps. All of his patients have returned but some do better than others. I hope this helps. How about yourself? Were you botched also?

That is this Industry. Do not feel too bad and take it personally. I do not understand why someone cannot mention a Dr. By name. I think that perhaps they have something or many things to hide.;)

Diamond all one needs to do is walk in your shoes to understand you are not a shill and maybe only other repair patients can understand this and I have got it all wrong and others just see it as some kind of promotion. We sometimes just don't like what we see or read and sometimes it does make us very angry to see it all still going on.

Diamond how do you feel about the PRP treatment? Do you feel it did anything for you?

diamond youve seen it all, thats alot of procedures, im happpy that your in better shape, one good thing about the forums is that you have people dealing with the same issue, so where in everyday life you may not have some1 who can relate, but on the forums you do.

Well as for the PRP I do think seems to help for the scar tissue. That is the scar tissue is less visible and not shiny at all. The overall thickness has somewhat improved but It it not a major Improvement. I would say that it has helped at best say 20%. However Topcat it is not a miracle and this Dr. Choi has told me that I have improved (The Before and after photos) However he seems to feel that it works best with patients who are just starting to lose their hair. I feel it is worth it as an additive to my routine. It defineitly has helped. SadButTrue I wish you the best on your Surgeries. When do you plan to start and what norwood are you if you do not mind me asking? It is a long process but for now is the only route to go on. I think if you have the expectation of a full head of hair you will not be happy however if done properly and the donor is extracted correctly it can frame the face nicely. I would say the front of my face now looks much better than before. I must stress though nothing is like that of a natural born head of hair. That is a person who has no hair loss. I would say that I am overall about 75 to 80% happy with the overall look. Dr. Woods did extract a lot of grafts and the majority grew. It does however make me wonder though how many grafts were destroyed by the other previous doctors. Donor is so so important in this surgery.

hello diamond , i would say im a nw5a , mid scalp still has some hair , but the pattern is in a nw5a. im looking to frame the face and do the front half on the 1st, and then round 2 , hit the crown, looking for decent coverage in front half. and thin crown is fine with me, using concelears is fine with me, my goals are modest, its because i was born with a highforhead that magnifies my baldness, and is not a good look, so im sporting a bad comb forward.lol.i working on pics now to have a consulation, then meet former patients, and then take the next step. feel free to ask any more questions, if you have any,

Good For You Sadbuttrue. Your expectations seem correct and I think that you have done your homework. I am not very familiar with SMG but have heard of them. Meeting former patients is the best thing you can do. I met a few of Dr. Woods patients before I underwent the knife. We first did two procedures in August of 2007 to see if things were going to work. Then at the end of the year I had four more and kept continuing until my last surgery in Sept of 2010. It is good that you have a virgin scalp also. If your hair is wavy or curly so much the better. As you probably know if you hair is dark and you have light skin as in my case there will be more contrast than if you have lighter hair & skin. Keep us updated. You are also correct in stating that the forums are a good form of support. When I was younger nobody understood this. They all said it was no big deal but the ones saying this had full thick heads of hair. Go figure..

I don €™t feel so bad for being banned from Hairsite and Hairtransplantnetwork. It seems that Facebook is now starting to ban those that they don €™t agree with most recently naturalnews along with Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist Jon Rapport. This is about controlling information and conditioning your beliefs and you simply must be aware that it is happening. If you don €™t you could easily find yourself making very bad decisions and most especially when it comes to medical treatment.

May those that try and manipulate information for their financial gain suffer for the harm they cause to others.

Yeah I agree. Hairsite hides facts from patients and I really do not miss it.

William J McCorkle was a late night infomercial guru here in the States selling his €œReal Estate Secrets € guess where he is at now? Both him and his wife were sentenced to 24 years in jail and had all their assets confiscated. By all appearance this was a young and successful guy.

Do you remember €œSmilin Bob € selling his erectile dysfunction pills Enzyte. I must admit the commercial did give me a laugh much better to live healthy than to buy what smiling Bob is selling. Well guess where Steve Warshak the owner of the company lives. In jail as he got 25 years.

When you manipulate information it €™s called fraud and not only are you hurting others you could very well end up spending plenty of time behind bars. When it comes to medical decisions and manipulation of information the penalties should be especially harsh in my opinion as you are literally playing with someone €™s life. All it takes are enough complaints to agencies like the FTC and maybe some of what we see out there will stop.

Which forums dont let you mention Drs Name?

I know HRN and HS are pretty bad but even this site is sponsored by HT clinics.

What about Spencers BTT and hlh?
Do they shut you up or theres freedom of speach?
What pisses me off how these site always take Drs side,
theres bias against patient as if he is there to screw up clinics reputation, when he in fact is just showing his results

What is point having discussion forum when bad resuls are censored and you only hear about good transplants

I guess it comes down to visiting the forums each and every day, day in and day out for years then you can see when manipulation is happening and the problem with that is young desperate guys that are clueless are making medical decisions based on believing most of what they read and if an alternate viewpoint is deleted or the poster banned well that could very well cause harm to the prospective patient and in my opinion is very risky behavior to just chase a few extra dollars as the legal issues do not seem worth the price.

It really does come down spending as much time on the forums as possible to figure it out. No different than spending time with relatives, friends, co workers etc. You know who is who. You know the cheat, the liar, the hard worker, the one with the big heart etc but that can only come with time spent. The problem with most young guys is they need to have the problem fixed and they need it fixed now so sometimes anything sounds good which is often what gets them into trouble.

Of course plenty of guys end up with great results but it's always good to understand all the issues so that better decisions can be made.

MG for instance who are you. Your first post and yet you are familiar with all these forums by name yet I have never seen your username ever in 15 years on any forum. My first thought would be this is not a patient nor a prospective patient but someone with an ulterior motive. This doesn €™t mean I €™m right I could be completely wrong but I should be able to state it as it is not causing anyone harm and maybe others will learn to pick up on something like this that they may not have noticed with other posters.

No need to be concerned about me, in my books every HT surgeon is guilty till proven innocent. That probabbly makes me more paranoid than yourself.

I would mostly agree with mg42. This industry as a whole does not have a great reputation. After all how many Vidal Sassoon or known name Salons,Barbers or cosmetologists truly know about Hair Transplants or how many would endorse these surgeries for greatness? I am not aware of any.
